Getting the same maps over and over

I took a break from playing for a bit, but since I came back a couple days ago I have gotten Kings Row once. In that same time span I have gotten new junk city at least 7 times, defense on numbani at least 6 times, and that hawaii map about 6 times as well. I’m not sure what’s going on and I know that the other maps exist, but I almost never see them. If this was just during one day that would be one thing, but having it consecutively happen over and over throughout the course of several days leads me to believe there’s something going wrong that I can’t see.

Edit: the times for these maps I mentioned may be more than that, but I know that each have at least been that many times. I don’t like being penalized for leaving games, but once I see the same map again I just groan and leave because I do not wanna do the same map yet again. Furthermore, I keep getting put on defense for qp. I don’t understand why this keeps happening. I have defense it feels like 80% of the time. it’s gotten to the point I’m like “OMG I"M ON ATTACK!?” when i actually get on attack.

I think because the matchmaking chooses the mode first then the map, there are 5 modes in normal quick play and competitive:

Control (7 Maps)
Escort (8 Maps)
Flash Point (2 Maps)
Hybrid (7 Maps)
Push (4 Maps)

There is a 20% chance for each mode to be chosen (I’m not really sure, I think there are weights to it), which we need to divide by the number of maps in each mode

Kings Row is a Hybrid map, giving us a 20/7 = 2.85% chance to get it, That means it takes around 35 matches to get Kings Row. double that to get attack or defense.

New Junk City is a Flash Point map, 20/2 = 10% or 1 in each 10 matches will be New Junk City

Not looking at my last 38 matches, I got New Junk City 2 times, and kings row 1 time

using binomial Binomial Distribution I can see that there is a 16% chance to get New Junk City 2 times in 38 matches, which seems normal.

I’m just yapping I have no idea, but I swear if I get Numbani defense 5 more times I’ll commit tax fraud.
