Hello there,
I’m new to Overwatch since this year after Apex changed their Matchmaking to be a joke.
When I started playing I sometimes got annoyed in text chat since there is no forfeit button when getting stomped so I wasn’t mad when I got suspended for the first time after like 3 months of playing.
Mind me I still never wrote racist/incel/homophobic remarks in chat, just like “u suck”/“If you continue to flame me I’m not healing you”/“this wasn’t a gg” and occasional “ez” if someone annoyed me on the enemy team.
After that suspension I kinda stopped and only really wrote outside of actual comms in chat when someone trolled me for having the gay/pride flag as profile icon “did you just die to a gay dude?”/“imagine sucking in game instead of dicks”.
Suspended again with no reason than breach of code of conduct. I was like huh, please at least tell me what message or action made you think I’m a toxic person???
So then I came back after 2 weeks and was like yeah maybe I said something bad or that one time I was afk at the start of a comp game because my phone rang is reason enough to ban me, I give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt.
I stopped all chat messages outside of comms, only telling people when they made a great play or helped me, not even writing gg any more.
During all this time I continuously got flamed when underperforming, when someone didn’t like the pride flag, saw people write racist, homophobic and incel messages (one even wrote they will touch my little brother???!) and just didn’t respond back because I was scared they gonna suspend me again.
Even defended bad teammates when they got flamed or extra healed them to help them have fun after switching to more unranked gaming.
Mind me no one else ever defended me or said something against people writing these kinds of messages.
AND I got now suspended again. Without a reason again.
I messaged the support, asking for any hints what behavior of mine is getting me suspended since there is nothing from the Code of Conduct that I feel I have breached, and got as answer the Code of Conduct link in an automated message.
I understand coming from Apex that at least they try to stop toxic and hateful people from ruining games for others.
But what I don’t understand is how I have reported so many Code of Conduct violations without ever getting a notification of “action was taken” which must mean they are fine with a lot of hateful stuff, even war support, “I touched your little brother” content (can’t use rhe p-word because that’s banned…), women and gay harassment.
Is everyone just fine with that system? How can you suspend people without a reason/log attched? Like would it kill Blizzard to tell me it was because I got mass reported, or was it my last message before I got banned “ily mercy <3” or do they just auto ban people with pride flags but don’t wanna say it?
If my suspension stays I’m just not coming back because if you can just keep getting suspended without any hint/proof of wrongdoing I’m gonna play for a week and they will just do it again and I can do nothing but message a support bot that replies to me with a code of conduct link.
Anyways to end this on a positive note: ty to all the nice teammates I have gotten as a support main and especially to all my other supports out there doing their best every single game.
