Getting Rewards for playing roles even if a match is canceled

I noticed in a couple of competitive games that even if a match is canceled I still get
a lootbox for playing in a role that is currently in demand, but I haven’t noticed if it works for credits. I don’t know if this is intended or not, but it seams to me like it’s a bug.

I guess you get the reward just because you decided to go with that role and got into a game with it. You get the reward if you get a victory/defeat or possibly a cancelled match.

I find it strange that you get the award even if the match is canceled. Maybe if I left the match then I wouldn’t get the reward? IDK if this is a bug, but It just seamed weird to me.
