Getting reported in OQ for not playing the "right" role

The OQ player mentality is wild, not only is it the same people in every lobby game after game but they all expect you to play whatever they want you to play. If you pick dps they just report you and are very loud about it, lol.

And I’m just like, the whole point of open queue is not being bound by limitations of what role you get to pick, yet the very players that play this mode are actively trying to control what roles other players pick, like what?

They might as well replace OQ with 3/0/2 role lock because that is all they seem to want to play.

Must be an elo or server thing as this has happened only once in my games on oq.

But if you care the hacked qp oq makes it mandatory to have 1 of every role (max 2).
So someone has to play a dps regardless of what the teammates think.

Yeah i have been playing the new mode and it’s fun.

I just don’t understand this strict mentality of having to play certain roles in a mode specifically designed to give players the freedom to choose any role.

I don’t think it’s elo specific seeing as my t500 OQ friend has the same experience.

To be completely fair, reports for throwing are technically valid.

:muscle::grimacing:

The funny part is I’m carrying half of these games by just locking junk and blowing up the low HP enemy tanks over and over. 3 games with a mix of the same players back2back and I already had a reputation lol. “Oh no, not you again”

That is unironically why it happens. It’s a tight knit group of people overall. To us, open queue is a gimmick. To them, open queue is a lifestyle choice.

I was scared to play Reaper only during that one season. But Reaper on console is basically Jesus. He can do know wrong.

Congrats, you made me laugh out loud at work.

Which is exactly why we needed 222 on the first place.

I agree, but my questions is, why are these people playing OQ if they are going actively try to micromanage the roles being played in their team? Why don’t they just queue for RQ then?

Because they are delusional about OQ being better.
They just want to have teams with 2 tanks.

Idk, i’ve had teams with 4 dps and single support beat 3 tank 2 supp teams plenty of times.

So it has to be an elo or region thing. (Gold here)

I think its much more funny to intentionally stay on the hero theyre flaming you for.

Currently Plat 3 but it honestly might as well be RQ silver because that’s what it feels like.

Region is Amsterdam-EU (even though I live on nowhere near EU)

Always has been, it just seems to attract certain types of players.

Weird. I’m around gold in eu. Not much different than yours, but much less toxicity about hero picks. Comp i kinda understand, but if you get that in qp, then there’s issues.

I should have specified. It certainly is comp. Regardless, it’s still weird that people choose a game mode that encourages role freedom only to try and control what roles people play.

PS: There isn’t really any guarantee that your OQ QP games are any where close to being gold. Matchmaking is very loose.

Problem is tanks are so much stronger than dps, that the team with less dps has the much better chance of winning. OQ is as tank stack heavy as it’s ever been. Back in ow1 tank stacking was often the best, but tanks were no where near as strong as in ow2. And just losing 150 health doesn’t do much, especially to certain tanks that already have high health pools.

That is besides the point. The idea that you are actively trying to limit options in a mode specifically designated for no limitations is backwards.

We all know that stacking tanks is strong, always has been.

That is false reporting for sure

They feel pretty close to my rq game difficulty, and i’ve placed gold often enough in a row in rq to think so. A bit easier because i can counter the problem enemies myself instead of waiting for my team to do so for me.
I tend to not play comp much to avoid the rank salt.
