Hey, what’s up?
Since around one week before Christmas, I’ve been getting this error every time I tried to load up the game, but after 2 or 3 tries, the game would finally let me log in. But today I’ve been trying to log in for the past 5 hours and nothing, every time I put my account and password, I get “Lost connection to game server” error. But my internet is fine, other games that I play (Paladins, Fortnite, Battlefield etc) are working fine, even the Blizzard client is working fine, only Overwatch is misbehaving. I already tried scanning and reparing my files, restarting my computer, restarting my internet router and nothing. What can I do to work this out? Tonight me and the gang planned to finish our placements matches, but this won’t be possible if I can’t log into the game…

Just after posting this topic, the game finally let me in, but it’s extremely annoying having to keep retyping the account and password or having to close and open the game several times before I can finally get to the main menu, so if anyone has any solution to this problme, I would be extremely thankful
Well first make sure you do make sure do check over your equipment to ensure no problems on your end:
Otherwise if you are still disconnecting frequently, you may need to try to pinpoint the issue by testing the connection route. A WinMTR test can help:
WinMTR instructions:
- Download WinMTR from http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/ (Console players need a Windows Desktop Computer connected to the same network as their console to do this.)
- Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
- Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
- Run the WinMTR.exe
- Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph, or go to Video > Options > Display Network Performance Graph if you are on any platform including Console. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.
note When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78 - Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
- Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
- Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between:

After just a few seconds I lost the connection to the game server. This happens all the time. Please help me. Would be sad to have to quit playing Overwatch. Oh, alright. I’m gonna open a new one. And yes, I disconnected - all the way back to the log-in screen.
Problems started since November last year, but now it is mass disconencts. I see leavers every game, i was disconected from game, could not back, after ban started playing, again disconected, banned for hours… I have no network issues and Isp problems. This problem is global and depends of servers we connect to. Or there is some nice ddos bot uses by those hackers who say they can disconnect erveryone from server.
