Hi, I’m a Platinum Ana player and I’ve just been having some concerns over playing Ana. Recently I’ve been trying to manage healing both tanks and dps and I feel like that’s going quite well. My accuracy is not the best, but I believe it is better than when I started out (Around the 50%~ range, I’m hoping shooting tanks didn’t inflate the percentage).
The problem is, I usually find myself having quite low healing outputs, and I’m not sure what to do. I usually try to aim for around 1,000 healing per 1:30, and I’m usually under that by around 2,000 healing by the end of the match. Does anyone have any tips I can use? Thanks in advance.

thats not that much tbh… at most it sounds like one of a few issues thats causing it, either you’re dying too much, your second support is doing a lot, or you’re team just isnt taking enough damage for whatever reason, maybe there’s been a bunch of long downtimes between fights that require you to heal an adequate amount possibly because of trickling from the enemy team, as long as you arent dropping sr those numbers dont really mean much, I certainly dont meet the 1,000 healing per minute mark most Mercy players aim for, but I’m getting an average of 1650 dmg boosted (that’s pretty above average for my rank)
there’s a combination of stats always going on every match and one stat not quite meeting a certain mark doesn’t really matter, you might find a couple of your other stats are above average and they lead to your team not needing healing as much

Maybe stop concerning about numbers? And focus on hitting shots on demand? I think Ana should focus on faster reaction time and higher action per minute. High heal number comes second.

A suggestion - go into your replays and watch a couple matches. See what you can find that looks bad, or something that you could improve it.
If you can’t, find a video or vod from a player like ML7 and then compare your gameplay to theirs.
That healing rate, if you are talking about a competitive game, is very low. How quickly do you burn through your ammo? How long do you wait between shots? Where do you position and how often do you die?
50%+ accuracy is well enough good.
As long as the other team doesn’t have flankers that are always on you, save your nade for your tanks to burst heal them. Or use it in an Offence/Defense combo say when your Rein is dueling the other one, Healing Amp on yours, and Anti-Heal on the other, then pump shots into your Rein.
Position yourself in a way where you are out of harms way, the longer you are alive the more healing you do, Ana should be the last hero to die in almost any fight. If your team is not within line of sight of you and it is not safe to reposition thats on them, unless you are going to make a good play.
ML7 has some amazing guides on YouTube that are worth checking out.
I never look at my total heals it doesnt matter. You just heal whenever its needed, if your team is so good that they barely need any heals then so be it
It also depends on the map and what tanks your team picked. If its a rein you easily get 10k heals but a hammond not so much since he just runs around and get healthpacks
Thanks for all the replies everyone, from what I’m getting I should focus more on my gameplay and helping my team rather than the numbers themself. Again, thank you everyone for your help ^^
As a Master support, the best short and simple tip is, focus on not dying, if you can consistently die the least in the game (compared to your team) then you’ll start having more impact without realising it
Low healing output on Ana seems to happen to me most when the team is feeding hard and not even ml7 could save them. If the team is playing coherently, my numbers go way up because they aren’t LOSing me and aren’t giving the other team free elims that I couldn’t heal anyways.
