Don’t know if anyone else experiences this, but when I queue for both tank and support (QP on PS4, both queues usually bottomed out at <2 mins) I will get put into support like 90% of the time.
This happens alone but also happens in duos that also have selected tank/support. I constantly get put in support and my partner is mostly put in tank - though sometimes we both get support.
It’s super annoying because I prefer tank but at times want support, how can the results be that skewed with both queues at <2 mins?
Curious if anyone else has experienced this or maybe has a guess as to why. I have hundreds more hours in tank while my sister has more in support…I don’t know why that would matter but it’s the only thing I can think of.
Just hate that I can’t queue as both because it only ever gives me support.
It just throws you in whatever is first. If support is more needed at your rank, it will basically always be filled first. Ignore those timers. They are hella inaccurate.
It’s QP though. I mean, I know they “try” to somewhat balance it even in QP but let’s be real - that sh!t isn’t balanced.
Probably right about queue times being wrong.
It swings, but in parts its due to your MMR/SR I think. I sometimes queue for both like yesterday evening EST, and I think got 3 tank and 1 support match in one sitting. OTOH, I have had sessions where it was reversed, but yeah you would think it would be about a 50/50 split, its definitely not.
I played for about 2 or 3 hours straight earlier with both selected and seriously only got support. Just had to give up and do only tank

Definitely not balanced. That is actually the issue. To speed up queues for dps, they just throw you in the first “match.” So if the game consistently needs 80 tanks and 100 supports, you will get support 99% of the time. It would only be a 50/50 chance if the game literally needed the same amount of tank and supports.
The reason your friend might get tank more is likely just an mmr discrepancy. In other words, even if you were eligible for tank, you might be too good (or bad, but let’s be real, you are too good) relative to the other tanks it has matched on the other team.
…yeah my tinfoil hat was already thinking it might have something to do with me being better at tank. So lovely!

As I said, it might be. It attempts to group on like MMR/SR, so if you’re tank score differs enough from support and the averages in play at that time match more your tank than your support, you might easily get pushed there first.
