I have never met a die hard Zarya main ever, the only time people even picked her in OW2 is when she was giga busted during S1 and S6 and only then people really only pick her out of obligation to counter D.va or Orisa. Another thing I’ve noticed is that no one ever begs for skins for this hero, it’s kind of seen as part of course for her to get little to no skins at all. Overall I think people dropped her because she is just so incredibly boring with 5v5. Or maybe they all went to Da Kween as their new preferred muscle mommy.
One of them saw my Brigitte rocking the awesome Tre Kronor skin.

I’ve met a few this season. But they end up playing Rein or Orisa cause those are the strong tanks in my rank. 
And Rein is good against Zarya unless he plays poorly.
If you ever want to see one, just have someone in the lobby go D.Va

Shes incredibly boring in the solo tank format, unless u have an aggressive dps player on reaper, venture, or genji as ur bubble friend

Reaper is kind of like a second tank rn, just use your imagination.
Zarya is a niche hero like hog. She is only viable when they have orissa or Eva. Other than that where do you see the need for her.
If I played tank, Zarya would be my main. But I don’t play tank. So, hypothetically, Zarya mains probably do exist, they’re just playing other roles and heroes because solo tanking is cancer.
all i do is lose games and play zarya, my commitment to my russian queen knows no bounds i d rather drop like a stone then learn to play another tank she is IT for me. NO ONE has the gameplay loop THIS satisfying

full hard agree, lately due to lack of aggressive dps players i started treating my kiriko’s as mini-tanks…
Zarya is/was one of those tanks that mostly attracted flex players due to her ability to save teammates with well placed bubbles. OW1 Orisa was also this. They were many flex players’s main tank hero.
Now that she is forced to solo tank and cant really dedicate herself to that, she has fallen out of favor as many flex players have left the game.

Been maining Zarya for four years now, haven’t thought of switching once. It’s to the point where I hardly, if ever, have to counterswap, but that is all within the context of QP. My profile is public if you don’t believe me lol
I beg for the alien skin but that basically coming from a place of wanting what I can’t have.
I really do have a lot of fun with her, particularly after learning about how many different areas on each map she can access with her alt fire ‘grenade’ bounce.

Zarya’s my highest levelled character under the progression system at 51, with the next best being Ram at 44 and then Bap at 38.
As far as skins go, Zarya skins have mostly been awful. Polyanitsa and Workout are the only ones that look good to me, although I’ve softened my opinion on 80s in more recent times. They’re never going to do better so why bother asking, we’ll just end up with more disasters that make no-one happy.
I think she’s fine in 122 on the face of it because in 222, bubbling the other tank was seen as the way to go. I have met a lot of Reins who, upon me giving the bubble to a blading Genji or blossoming Reaper, have sulked and switched to Hog. It’s really nice being able to bubble teammates as I see fit. The bigger problem is the counterswap game (which she is a part of herself, and I’m not excusing) where red tank goes Rein or Winston and if blue team doesn’t help then… well, dang.

She’s just a hero people swap to after losing a few fights since she requires more coordination to play against than to play
if by some stroke of weird reality warping luck i end up on tank, i usually stick to zarya or rammatra. i wouldn’t consider myself a zarya main, but she’s definitely my best tank ! she’s really fun actually
Yeah, me. She’s been my main since forever but I am slowly moving towards D.Va (who was always my secondary main.) Zarya is a common pick but yeah, you rarely see Zarya MAINS.
i’d also love to see more tips! i find zarya to be ridiculously fun whenever i end up on tank. i’ve been trying to use secondary fire more ever since it got buffed but im not good at like aiming it??? i gotta work on that haha

Her alt fire (at least when you have 80 charge or above) is so underated… you can lob a clumsy alt fire at a widow or otherwise distant support hero and easily pick them off, it’s so satisfying… keep that alt fire going and you’ll be surprised at what kind of elims you can get. I’m looking for a replay right now that I’ll post.

You are either a one-trick or you play multiple heroes. I don’t think the concept of a main really exists anymore. Maybe it never did.
