Any tips from Genji mains to improve on playing him?

I’m not really sure Genji mains even play Genji.
The only thing that’s helped me as someone who sucks at Genji is use spread shot 90 percent of the time.

The truth?
Genji has a difficult combo to pull off that requires precise positioning and a quick combo of keys. Once you practice enough with him and it becomes second nature it’s extremely effective.
Double jumping, wall climbing and dashing in will serve you well at low tiers. Waiting, poking and only dashing in if you are certain you can secure the kill so you reset dash to dash out will serve you well at mid tiers.
Genjis ultimate resets his blade. Try to jump unseen above the enemy before dashing and then using ultimate to dash again.
Deflect can be cancelled. Deflect cannot reflect sigma rock, Junker queen knife or beam weapons. Deflect can reflect Dragons if you deflect the arrow before they form. Deflect can reflect torb ult.
Learn health pack locations. Optimally played a Genji does not spend too much time in line of sight of his supports.
At lower elos if you do need healing and are in line of sight of supports and are not in immediate danger please stand still.
Turn off communication or emotions. People do not like Genjis, and the people who do will throw games or leave the second you insta lock their favourite hero. I can show you a montage I’m working on about it when it’s done.
Learn to ask Ana for Nano by using ‘my ultimate is ready’ and ‘I’m going in’ even if you or the Ana isn’t in comms. Learn to say ‘yes’ or ‘acknowledged’ if the Ana also lets you know that her ultimate is ready.
Keep tabs of Ana’s ultimate so you know when it’s available soon and can positions somewhere that you can be effective but also where she can hit you with it. It has line of sight and a max range.
Always thank your mercys. They have a not so secret crush on you. It’s a bit weird and stalkery but you don’t want them turning on you.
OW2 PVP and OW2PVE 2023 are both Genjis moments to shine. Take full advantage of it while it lasts.
Moira doesn’t like you. But if you put the work in she poses no actual threat. No support does. Not for a mediocre or higher Genji.
