If nothing else, Genji not being able to deflect shield bash hurts the consistency of the game rules.
Like, a great Overwatch moment for every player is when they first discover you can deflect a fire strike. They go “woahhHH what??”. Overwatch, to me, is the FPS game where you play as literal super heroes that can do crazy crazy things.
So yeah. I wanna deflect shield bash. And doom punch. (Same applies to when other “infinite” abilities have certain inconsistencies. Like D.va not matrixing Sigma rock. I understand why it’s how it is, but blegh.)
(In terms of game balance, I think deflect is an interactive mechanic. 8 second cooldown. Baitable. It’s fair. So I want a more interactive matchup between Genji and Brig than just “stay back boi or you’ll get bashed”.)

A bash with a shield is meant to deflect weapons and open the opponent up for attack though, is it not?
That’s how it works in Dark Souls anyways

Genji should be able to deflect a Dva Ult back at them and then get the Ult charge from it, and then be able to call down his own mech, which is just a giant Dragon that shoots swords.

Genji should be able to deflect, period.
Deflect doesn’t even work 90% of the time anymore
genji should be able to deflect hook and when it grabs roadhog, it just leaves im flying back and forward from the pull for the rest of the game

but if he deflects a dva who is using it flying at him it deflects the defense matrix which eats dva

But if Dva is also Defense Matrixing the deflected Defence Matrix, then Genji gets sent to the Nether Realm.

Genji should be able to deflect the cars on Oasis. Make it so that he can send them flying at the point.
