Genji, Reaper, Doomfist, Echo, and Pharah are all unplayable

Did I miss any heroes? I’m sure I did, because there are quite a few. These heroes unfortunately need to leave the comfort of their team and expose themselves to significant danger to get any value. Hence why their pick rates are low and why it will continue to be low. They also don’t have the privilege of not having to track enemy cooldowns. Widow, Ashe, or McCree don’t have to care whether the enemies McCree flash is off cooldown or not. While that one cooldown alone determines whether a Genji, Doomfist, or Reaper get a pick or feeds. Not to mention the other dozen or so cooldowns they also need to track. Hitscan players can simply zone the enemy, stick by their team, and click until the cows come home. Signed a Doomfist main who longs for a time long gone.

Doom main here, he is definitely not unplayable. Hard to learn and pick up? Definitely. But I’ve found lots of ways to still get value on him without hard feeding. I don’t think rollout playstyle is good in this meta because of the amount of peel we have (flashbang, IF, lucio boop and speed, bubble/matrix). But going for punches on the tanks and helping your team is how I play him right now, and when he gets resources such as bubbles or ana heals, he is REALLY strong

So I would say hes like B or C tier atm, but he is definitely not unplayable.

In what rank? He is like 0.69% pick rate in gm last I checked

Echo is fine and doom just needs a minor buff and bug fixes. Genji and Pharah are in rough spot though.

Since when?

Laughs/Cries in Symmetra, Bastion, Sombra, etc.

Then can you please explain why I see Genji in every single game and why he’s dominating my games and has a very high pickrate?

Pickrates fluctuate.

He hasn’t really been above 2% since genji meta back in july

The only two heroes in the game who I would say is outright unplayable is Sombra and D.Va. The rest are playable but may require more effort than you expect.

Of course it all depends on the skill of the players and the matchup.

Nah he’s op mate…

I would not call any heroes unplayable, but there are MANY heroes that are less than ideal, and at an obvious disadvantage.

Soldier, genji, reaper doomfist, pharah, bastion, symmetra, torbjorn, Orisa, Sigma, Dva, Winston, Moira, maybe mercy too

the problem is that the difference between “advantage” and “disavdvantage” is that the advantage is basically beeing able to furfill literally every other thing the other chars do better while doing other stuff on top

Echo is fine, so is genji. Doom gets lots of playtime even in high tier matches currently, and Pharah despite the need for a pocket, is currently played by the Nr1 EU player in DPS as a 4.6k SR player.

Reaper is the only one which falls off. Unless they change numbers to break him, he wont be much viable in high ranks, but can be used in midtier and lowtier due to the lack of adaptivity of these ranks.

Honestly, unless u r GM+, every DPS hero outside of Sombra, can be played without much problems. Sombra is the only one where she needs always her team to make use of her kit.

I would argue Pharah is the same, despite not being as team reliant. Pharah cant do anything if her team doesn’t create space, and pharah is in a state where she needs the pocket to be somewhat viable in ranks diamond and above. Pharah’s barrage can be good for 1 or 2 picks, but usually the rien or zarya can block the dmg, turning it once again into a suicide button.

you are 8 days late.

Because he’s meta. listen, don’t try to convince these people it’s a waste of time. you and i both know how broken genji is

People in lower ranks play what’s fun and Genji is fun. They might be dominating because a. You don’t know how to counter him b. Because the player is smurfing and the hero isn’t viable.
