I`m pretty new to overwatch (bought it 2 month ago) and no hero in this game is so often to pick and so annoying at the same time as genji. He has too much burst damage and mobility at the same time.
So to rework him and make him more balanced:
Decrease the dash range (so he won`t be able to deal damage with dash to fying heroes like mercy);
Kills no longer remove dash cooldown (so he won`t be so mobile while ulting) maybe kills will just decrease cooldown for 1 second for each, or just make it static like 6 seconds instead of 8;
Decrease splash range from the ult (the damage will be great as it was , but a player will use it much more careful and just just menacingly jumping around).
With the all suggested above changes genji will no longer deal so much damage to flying heroes (which will put him more like Tracer, who is mobile, but cant counter flying heroes and make flying heroes more playable (there are many hitscan who counter them so far)) And his ults from newcomers wont make 3-4 hero wipes and will become more skill depending to use.
The suggestions are super reasonable considering weâre talking about the character with most overbloated kit in the game. However the forums are full of Genji mains / Genji defenders, so donât expect actual feedback or sympathy.
At the very, very least dash shouldnât reset on assisted kills as it is a cheap mechanic.
sorry, but the nerfs will make him terrible, Genji is mainly an issue because people just dont know how to deal with him and the only actual useful part about him is nano-blade
Complete nonsense. I donât know why youâre talking about âflying heroesâ like its a whole class of hero that should counter Genji, but thereâs nothing unfair or unbalanced about Genji being able to reach them. Mercy doesnât fly, except for when sheâs ulting or pocketing Pharah. In both scenarios, Genji will have trouble dealing with her.
People who donât understand how intricate and important each aspect of Genjiâs kit is have been crying about this for five years. You said youâre new, so I donât expect you to understand. But do understand that this is never, ever going to happen. The dash reset is integral to the bladeâs viability. Without it, itâs useless.
Your suggestions are based on a very poor understanding of the game. The ult doesnât deal splash damage, so I donât even know what youâre talking about. Genji isnât an effective pick against the only two flying heroes in the game (Pharah, and somewhat Echo).
Ok, I know that youâre new⌠but there are tons of other DPS which do more burst than him.
His mobility forces him either in a straight line if he is climbing a wall, or a parabola, both of which are easy to track.
Really itâs the flying heroes fault for being within his dash range, considering they have all the necessary tools to stay out of it, or move right out of it. If they Genji actually kills the flyer, then they got outplayed.
Why???
This will ruin the character. He is a Flanker. He needs to be in the enemies backline. He needs a way to escape, that is his dash. And that only works if he actually kills them. Other flankers can all push with harder engagements on the backline, not secure the kill, and make his out a lot easier. This will ruin him.
He needs more compensation buffs if he gets this nerf.
This isnât a rework. Itâs killing the hero.
Heâs already really difficult to use because of how bad he is.
i disagree. he has a pretty specific niche, but is still moderate in his respective metas. there are heroes that are much better at his niche and there are heroes that are better then him while being more versatile.
it is hard to find a legit reason to pick genji over other/similar characters, so with that in mind he isnât very balanced
