the slightest nerf will not make your constantly present hero “unplayable”. he’s literally never been unplayable since day one and I’m so tired of hearing about what your favourite streamer is saying about him

The man relies on burst damage and breakpoints to kill targets otherwise it significantly increases the chance the target escapes/heals which means he won’t get his reset which means he should die 
Did he need a nerf? Of course but lets not act like this is nothing…

In other words, if you fail to kill your target and you don’t have any escape off CD, and the enemy outguns you while you jump like a circus acrobat, you will probably die.

While I’m not as pessimitic cause 5v5 still promotes Genji’s gameplay, we’ve seen from ow1 how changing his shurikens can make him either an assasin or Ult-bot.

As long as blade remains untouched Genji will never be bad. Outside of Goats He has been Meta sense day one, requiring one extra volley of hard to miss projectiles is not going to change where his power lies.

This nerf might be too much, but holy cow there are way to many delusional Genji players out there.
He could dash reset on damage and have the highest potential DPS in the game and some players would still argue that he’s the highest skill character in the game and is balanced.

There is more to the Meta than the top 5%, And “Hard” Meta was not claimed.
For the vast Majority of players Genji has never been a bad hero.
When his defense seem to be pointing to times when the Meta was a direct counter (Goats,Double Sheild) that no longer exist today.

One thing I’ve learned about OW players over the years is easy is never easy enough. You can bring up objectively broken characters or abilities on the forum and like clockwork everyone who mains those characters will flock to the thread to defend it and at times even ask for it to be easier.
Blizzard has pandered to these people from day 1 and that’s never going to change. They’ve made the bulk of their money from them and that’s all it was ever about to begin with.
