Genji is the hardest hero they said

learn proper movement to survive ? no need there is double jump

learn how to aim in order to win a duel or assassinate enemy ? no need there is RMB + melee combo and your dash

need to preseve dash ? no need you only need assist kill in order to instantly reset the dash and it also reset after your use your ultimate

need proper game mechanic to get value when using ultimate ? no need your blade range is big as your ultra samsung HD TV

not to mention he have deflect that block every melee attack and projectile

how come people think genji is the hardest while flanker like tracer exist ? especially how tracer got nerfed before OW2 release while genji is remain untouchable ?

I remember hitting one with Brigitte and he was deflecting my flail. How?

Genji’s not hard, its just a different playstyle. His kit is very forgiving.

No one has ever said Genji is hard. You just manage your cooldowns like every other Hero.

Try doing that consistently, not even the best genji players are landing one-shots with right click + melee or right click+dash.

It’s a team game, all removing the reset on assist will do is promote toxicity and punish you for team play.

Every other ult in the game barring sojourn’s, monkey’s,and maybe tracer’s are easier to use.

It’s a sword bruh, ever try to punch a sword? And ofc it deflects projectiles, that’s the point of the ability.

No one says he’s harder than tracer, but he’s up there in terms of difficulty.

  1. In general, because OW pros dictate which heroes get nerfs and buffs, both directly and indirectly. Genji is, or at least was, one of the top heroes pros played pre-GOATS
  2. You want the hero with the season’s “mythic” skin to have a high pick rate so more people are willing to pay for the Battle Pass and skip tiers. Won’t be surprised if we get Genji nerfs by the tail end or the end of the current season.

I do like a Genji next to me when I’m on a Moira since he cleans them up right quick :smirk:

He’s the only flanker who can’t leave fights whenever he wants to.

this. genj is basically the moira of dps (gets lots of value for minimal input required)

He’s not harder, his is very easily countered though and his ult requires a lot of preparation otherwise you are only going to use it to bait a Lúcio or Zen ult.

He’s probably one of the weakest heroes if the enemy team has enough braincells to switch heros when needed.

He has dash for this, plus 3 of his passives, increased movement speed, double jump, and wall climb.

His strength is definitely over-exaggerated but he’s by no means weak in ow2

To be honest the skill floor isn’t that high to do ok with Genji but he has a lot of potential so a very high skill ceiling.

So people get an ego and think Genji should always be able to just look at things and they die BeCaUSe He Is HiGh SkiLl

Now the projected nerfs seem harsh not going to lie.

Not really, Ana is one of the best healers in the game so she’s picked consistently enough, or purposely when someone plays Genji, that Nanoblade circumvents any and all “difficulties” with Dragonblade.

You can run face first into someone, not that you need to with his Dash.

Excuse me? Do you not think being able to deflect pretty much all projectiles, having a dash, double jump and wall climb is good enough for Genji to get the hell out of somewhere?

It’s certainly a better escape than Reaper

Dash is used to engage, and unless you confirm a kill it

None of this lets him leave a fight, maybe wall climb but then you can’t shoot and you’re moving in a straight line.

Oh but he is, the problem is that in solo queue, people don’t adapt to the enemy team, they see a Genji and they don’t swap off their Mercy, Ana, Rein, Bastion or what have you. He’s only good as long as the enemy players are bad.

Winston, Zarya, Symmetra, Mei and Moira are all hard counters to him, you can play around a Zarya and Moira by not getting too close, but Winston, Mei or Symmetra simply don’t let him exist in the match.

You smack a Genji with Rein and that Genji is going to have a bad time.

None of that moves him out of a fight other than dash, which he doesn’t have unless he confirms a kill.
