So i know this is a big meme and all, but i honestly feel like Genji’s current kit is imbalanced. Especially after playing many hours with Genji myself, IMO it’s just too easy to dash in, spam shurikens and melee and kill a support. If you don’t get the practical oneshot combo, just keep double jumping over their head and spam until you can confirm the kill. Nerfing his health to 175 at least balances out his hypermobility and makes his kit more high risk/high reward.
Nope. He’s fine. Skill issues lol…
Yes. Whatever it is. Nerf Genji.
That’s actually a great change. He keeps his lethality and mobility but it comes with extreme risk. I like it.
I have no idea why you guys think a health nerf is always a magic solution, but its not. Your issue with Genji is that he kills you; he could have 25 HP, and if he could still easily confirm kills on you, you’d swear he was busted.
It’s so magical and unworldly… yet it works with tracer don’t it?
The point is his attack power isn’t overkill, but his attack power + ability to evade punishment is.
175 HP means he’s still able to kill but he’s punished harder for mistakes.
Idk if he’s OP but he’s definitely close to it when the genji player is good. Good genji is nearly impossible for supports to deal with in any capacity, just like tracer before her nerf.
Yes, but with a big asterisk. Tracer is a launch character; not only was she designed with 150 HP, the whole game was designed with Tracer’s 150 HP in mind. Removing Genji’s health could easily have ramifications that none of us could possibly know now.
I don’t agree; Genji’s biggest asset is players mastering both his offense and defense. That means, against any Genji player who’s done this, you’d still die in the same way whether he had 200 HP, or 150, or 75 HP. And, in that case, people would still beg for nerfs.

You can’t fix this, though. Take the worst player in the game, and fight someone who’s a pro at them. They’ll make them look OP. I think a lot of you read me type this, and think I’m being hyperbolic, but I think the biggest issue a lot of you have really IS the dying.
You see Genji Naruto running up to you, then he does a back flip, right clicks you, and dashes into you for a kill and dashes a way with his life. To you, that’s obnoxious and OP, but that’s only because you don’t know how much effort it is to do that consistently.
This is an easy kill for a lot of more competent players with good tracking.
His current damage range wouldn’t allow for it. To say nothing of the concept that he is “hyper-mobile”. Genji is a mobile character, but there are far more powerful, far more mobile heroes in the Tank and Support roles that can do more damage, far more safely, with far more health, and far more reliably OR can heal and run circles around Genji with more practicality than any Damage-role hero.
Penalizing Genji solely for those reasons doesn’t make sense logically, or objectively. Much like Pharah, players need to learn how to deal with specific characters individually. You can’t always use the same strategies and you can always ask for additional help.
It’s always something
“Bloated” Kit
Deflect is unfair.
Swiftstrike resets are unfair
Nanoblade is unfair
Double-jump is unfair
They already experimented with this when they made decisions to either lower his health or his damage. And keep in mind he’s doing less damage today than he was back in OW1 even before Ana’s introduction.
