Genji has broken a record

Didn’t Hanzo have an 11% during the first DB?

Behold, the second era of the Genji mains.

I still hate Doomfist more though.

^this.

I went up against a genji in QP the other day. He had mercy’s damage boosting beam shoved where the sun don’t shine the entire game.
He got his ult in less than 20 seconds at the start of the game. Absolutely ridiculous.

They have much much smaller rosters.

So you expect their pick rates be be higher.

I must have missed that. I need to go back and check.

The monthly stats cover an area before he was crazy, check weekly, that is the state he is now.

Ana is also way stronger then the rest of the support lineup. I think there should be no doubt that Genji is a “problem” now.

I see the laughing has started… Good think I am in practice.

Yeah, someone else pointed this out to me, I must have missed it, I’ll be going back and looking.

For all I have a rep of hating on the flankers (unfounded by the way, since I was asking for them to be buffed before this) - they have usually been pretty well picked in double shield metas, since, they can bypass the shield and get picks.

Yeah, I was wrong there… It is still VERY much an outlier.

Here you go

That was early June 2018 when Grav Dragon was in full force.

What about shatter or sleep or blizzard UwU

Fun fact, Genji has reached just about 10% in diamond.

Hanzo’s rework was completely broken. Genji is now just as busted.

No dps reaches that high of a pickrate unless they are broken. Nobody.

That’s actually insane. It’s bad enough so many other heroes in other roles have been that far ahead for so long, but to add a dps to it as well…

God damn. That is a hell of a thing.

Maybe he can break the Hanzo record.

I mean, to be fair, its not unusual for a tank or support to have a higher pickrate as there are supports and tanks that are considered more viable than others (rein and zarya vs hog and ball, for example), and the pickrate if all tanks were picked evenly is ~4% Its simply because there are just that few of them, and there is one shield tank that is considered the main, best tank in overwatch that no one in your game will ever be upset about having on their team (reinhardt 11.56%) and two tanks that are often paired with him (zarya-7.22% and sigma 4.09%) and then there’s the rest of the tank roster which have a less than 3% pickrate.

The expected pickrate for DPS if every one of them was equally playable is only 1.9%. Genji’s present pickrate is almost quadruple that across all ranks. Worrying.

Its because Genji is just the coolest and most fun DPS to play. Its a fact, next to the buffs ofc. But welcome to the real OW again. Because we didnt see Genji after season 2.

Not true. Otherwise characters like D.va or Ball or Hog would have higher pickrates than they do. Spoiler, winning the game almost always takes priority for the overwatch player base over hero pick.

Furthermore, just because he wasn’t the most picked dps didn’t mean he wasn’t among the most picked. Since launch he never dropped out of the top 5 most picked DPS until this year, after ashe was buffed and echo was released, and even then, he never dropped out of the top 10. In a cast of 17 different heroes, well, this is important to note.

Furthermore I think symm is actually the coolest, most fun depeeess to play. Isn’t it y’alls line that fun is actually subjective and therefore shouldn’t matter when it comes to balance?

Except him being the in the top 3 all the way from season 1 to end of dive, and was top DPS in start of season 12.

So apart from being completely wrong, sure.

I find it most hilarious that Sym was nerfed within a week for being good in the same meta, with the difference she’s supposed to excel in shield metas as she’s an anti-shield dps.

Only the shimadas can break records :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Because some people don’t need stats to actually see whats right in front of them. I’ve read the patch notes and immediately knew whats going on. No rocket science, really.

Genku is broken in multiple ways, one of those is that even if you build your team around countering the raid boss, it can just stand back and farm its ult from afar due to the fact that it has no fall off.

In the interest of fairness though, I am a Genji main and want most if not all the buffs reverted. Never wanted him buffed in the first place and I even left the game over it.

I’ll be the first to admit that not all Genji mains are bias. But near everyone who’s bias is a Genji main.
