Blizz could have done other things like nerf other competing DPS and burst healing

You need to realize that it’s the forums we’re talking about, always witch hunting nerfs for someone who got them killed/who they simply just dislike. And doesnt want to make that effort of whining into learning how to counter/finally kill the hero ‘‘x’’.
And god damn if you disagree with 'em then starts the war & finger pointing thing.
The forums are just toxic wasteland & should not be taken seriously never, even when it’s the matter of balancing of the game, etc. Cause all the forum plebs can do is just whine, whine & whine.

Genji has literally never been a throw pick. There’s plenty of heroes that are infintely more trash than Genji in those 2 years (Bastion, Sombra, Symmetra, Zenyatta is pretty bad now, D.Va was awful for a while, Moira was literally a throw pick in higher ranks until she became meta in Double Shield and beyond.)
Not to mention that Genji isn’t just “viable” he’s literally OP in his current state.

yeah no body is arguing that he hasnt been trash, but they buff him twice in 1 patch put it on experimental mode and then go through with a buff that no body wanted anyway.

He was mediocre in the first dive meta, and that was a meta that strongly favored him and we’ll never get such a favorable meta again. We’d have to undo all powercreep and nerf quite a few more things for him to be usable.
Or we could just give him the buffs he deserves.

This is actually true though. No meta to date has been particularly inclusive. Typically the lower 2/3rds are trash.
