Even if this is true it’s still a multi-million dollar esport scene, obviously nowhere near the billions, but still significant.
This doesn’t mean they can’t cause problems. You can adjust numbers to alleviate these problems.
Also, multiple heroes literally suck after a certain point. Lol.
What does viable mean to you?
Shadder2k is a Genji main that is currently 8th in his region and peaked 7th this season.
Is this still too bad to be considered viable?

I didn’t say that OWL wasn’t a multi-billion dollar esport. I said that it won’t continue to be one if the Overwatch playerbase leaves. Others in this thread have made similar points to you as well.

Means nothing, every hero in the game gets consistent representation by atleast a handful of players at the top of the ladder, even when they’re in a poor spot.
If Sojourn was overperforming in Masters, but not overperforming in GM+, I would not consider her a balance issue. As it stands, she was and still is overperforming at the very top of the ladder & in professional play.

And to the extent they made any profit, it was probably from China. Which is no longer a thing.
Heck, the only reason they probably focused on OWL at all, was to get those YouTube exclusivity dollars, and that contract ended a few months ago.
And even with that, it’s still probably a net profit loss when you figure how hard they bled out ladder players over GOATs/DoubleBarrier changes.

my guy people are getting top 500 with every hero like last season 5 people were top 500 with her and she was trash
Sure, let’s make one of causes behind support’s bleedout stronger, it definitely will work.
It’s not bad enough, if cause is just annoying, so making it both annoying and strong sounds like great idea.

well yes when he was a trow pick only the top of the top used him and he was in a better state then he is now he is okay low c teir and on top of it the passive nerf just made the reasoning for nerfing him go aways so they should revert it because it was done to counter the dps passive

Agreed, the devs need to be careful with how they buff genji (and tracer too). Even if it’s true that it’s actually sojourn that’s blatantly OP, this is only true in the higher ranks where most people don’t play in. Genji before his nerf was so obnoxious for every other rank IMO. At least through Bronze to low Plat which are the ranks I have experience playing in.
Thing about snipers, is that they are annoying to supports in indirect way, by oneshotting their allies, which support can’t counter. Flankers are annoying in direct way, by directly attacking supports.
Genji mains being desperate for something the one thing that is always there even if the game changes.
People don’t even complain about most flankers it’s just a genji thing.
Vice-versa genjis complain about everything too.
Tracer obviously is better than genji, but no one cares much atleast for pubs.
Reaper echo sombra also exist seems to not have much issues for pubs.
Genji is totally viable as the main DPS in a dive comp with either a Winston, Ball or Doomfist. He can absolutely still provide solid cleanup on enemies that are less than 100% hp.
Very difficult to solo kill people now with the damage nerf and passive nerf though. They’ve made him team dependant, which means you can’t really one trick him without being a detrimental pick at some point (e.g team doesn’t know how or want to play dive comp).
He needs to have a zen helping him with discording squishes and he’s good to go imo.
