dude, i honestly think they should just give the 29dmg shurikens and call it a day. genji would be fine with just that sitting at B tier, A tier for dive metas being ran.
I honestly donât think they will without nerfing another part of his kit.
He is like OW1 Bastion, they canât afford for him to be too strong without him wrecking low ranked play.
So, they wonât buff him.
The only reason Bastion is even seeing high ranked play now, is that they didnât have to nerf him down, because turret mode has a timer now, and shields are not as prevalent, so it is harder for his team to mitigate out the damage going on him.
Both of these made him less of a problem in low ranked play, so, they could balance him so he is stronger and picked more in high ranked play.
His win rate is crazy high all arounf next patch hes getting touched

Genji does not need any more compensation nerfs even if he were to get buffed unless they overbuff him. Heâs far from being like OW1 bastion. Itâs not hard to balance Genji when all it takes is one simple change and thats it. Nothing more. I never understood the whole idea of if a hero is good in upper ranks, then theyre going to be âtoo goodâ in lower ranks as if this only is applied to genji in this sense. Reaper is strong in upper ranks, and he could be considered âtoo goodâ in lower ranks, but no one bats an eye about that for example. So why is it when genji good, thats not allowed? I never get this at all that itâs ONLY genji for this.
Blizzard canât afford to break the game in low ranks. The causals outnumber the hard core players by a whole damn lot.
Making a change which causes them to drop how âstickyâ the game is for casual players, is something Blizzard will avoid doing.
So no, I very much think they wonât just revert damage.
There was a scale of âtoo goodâ, and again, you have to be more careful with heroes with crazy crazy high pick rates.

Besides, if Sombra was as strong as Genji is, and picked as much, you would see the Ow community collectively melt down way more. But that also implies design issues.
You want him buffed to the point he is viable in high ranked play, I do too, the difference between us is, I understand that they wonât do that while he is a problem in low ranks.
So, you know, actually fixing that problem, would mean you could buff him. But the Genji players are super willing to die on the âhe needs to be S tier in low ranksâ hill.
