Genji and Hanzo's story and past

So I was thinking, The story of the Shimada Clan and what transpired between the two brothers is pretty much known, for those who dont know here is a quick synopsis. The Shimada Ninja clan had existed for centuries, the leader was the brothers father, It was deemed, by their father AND the Clan as a whole, that both brothers would take over leadership of the clan upon their fathers death, While Hanzo was considered a prodigy who excelled at tactics, strategy, bowmanship, and swordmanship (Hanzo is actually a better sword fighter than Genji as far as the lore go’s), Genji wanted nothing at all to do with the Clan’s illegal activities choosing to live his life as a rich playboy but he enjoyed training as a ninja. Upon the fathers untimely death the clan ordered Hanzo to set his brother straight, make him change his ways, stop being a playboy, and bring him in line with the Clans views so that they could co-rule over them, Hanzo confronted his brother attempting to talk him into embracing his fathers legacy but Genji’s response sent Hanzo into such a rage that they began to fight, which Hanzo eventually won believing he had killed his brother in one on one combat by sword, Hanzo regretted what he had done, and abandoned the Clan. Genji, who was being watched by Overwatch because the Shimada Clan was actively working against Overwatch, Was saved by Mercy who considered him an asset that could be put to use to help in the fight against the Clan due to his training and inside knowledge of his former life. Thats where we stand now, both brothers have abandoned the Shimada Clan and we are in the current lore. What was on my mind however is this. How did their father die? In both characters bio’s its stated that their father met with an “untimely death” so was he murdered? did he die of disease or what? Im interested to see what others have found or come up with on the topic. My theory is that Talon somehow has a hand in the death of their father, probably helping to have a leader who is more inclined to help them in power either covertly or overtly, and that THATS part of why BOTH brothers are no longer a part of the clan. Let your imaginations run wild, what do you guys think happened with the Shimada Clan?

Disbanded mostly I’d reckon since genji is considered dead and hanzo an outlaw.

I don’t think most of us even care. We have enough love for the shamadas for now. There are several other characters that need lore.

well, it cant be disbanded because they are the ones who are guarding Hanamura in the short, and Hanzo states to Genji, believing him to be sent by the clan “did your masters not tell you who I was? You are not the first assassin sent to kill me, and you will not be the last.” I think they are both considered “outlaws” to the Clan in current time’s because they tried to just walk out.

You’re right, I’m sorry. Shamada herem, we’re all shamadas now.

That’s true. They can’t be doing great though considering they lost two of their greatest warriors.

I agree on them not doing great, but what do you think is the current state of the Clan? Who is really controlling it and what happened to their father?

I don’t really think the death of Genji’s a Snow hanzo’s father is really important, he died before his time and how he died isn’t really necessary.

Thats your opinion though, and not what the post was about, its about people coming up with their own theories of what they think happened, He was a Shimada and therefore could control the dragons and was most likely strong in his own right, if not stronger than both of the brothers combined, so he most likely didnt just fade away of old age or anything, considering that the brothers are 38 and 35 in current time, the father wouldnt even have been old when he died. So something must have happened.

I think this might bring something to the conversation (even tho it’s been dead almost as long as genji)
