Genji 0.40% pickrate and 45% winrate for this week LMAO

That alone says something.

Week: 0.40% pickrate
Month: 0.60% pickrate
last 3 months: 0.80% pickrate

For a hero as popular as Genji to have such a mediocre pickrate show something is definitely not right. I’d be happy if he consistently maintained 2-3% pickrate but this? this is ridiculous. MUH CREE is sitting at 7% for god knows how long now.

Edit: You people need to understand that nerfing cree WILL NOT help Genji. They’re not gonna gut cree to the point of unplayability, just look at what happened to Ashe where she got compensation buffs that made her even better and shes just outshined by Cree and the rest of the meta cast.

Fewer flankers? I’m down.

There are a lot of heroes like this

its not just a genji problem

Weird side note, why does Overbuff list Mccree as a flanker XD

Why does overbuff list symmetra as a support?

“lot of heroes” Bastion who is trash design and must remain trash till a rework
Reaper
Sombra who is only weak because takes lot of teamwork but was shown multiple times to be an amazing hero in coordinated environments
Soldier who suffers from healing creep and is the weakest of all hitscans

Sure.

I mentioned this in another thread so I’ll say it here

Overbuff has been very unreliable this week. Half the heroes had like a 25% pick rate in one day. I think this is because the new season started, and all the GMs are in masters because you place 3900 after placements. So on the first few days, the GM pick rates are scuffed because no one is GM

So I would give it a week or two before using weekly data

It doesn’t matter, last couple of weeks hes always been sub 0.60% pickrate which shows that at least in GM hes F tier and is C tier below masters.

And where are you getting this data from…

He is almost as good as Reaper.
Wait. Reaper is worse…

Reaper can kill with his shotguns at least, he just can’t close gaps. Genji can only kill with blade lol.

Overbuff! Sym is a support there btw but we just ignore that little discrepancy :upside_down_face:

Well sym was a suppport, was Mccree ever a flanker?

There is also moira, doomfist, orisa, Pharah, echo

Egryn and NerfMercy have been very quiet lately :face_with_monocle:

We know overbuff is not 100% reliable and accurate, but its the only source of data we have and its been shown to be somewhat decent in doing so.

With the exception of Moira all of the above have 1% pickrate or more in GM.

Then this post has zero credibility.

Overbuff is wrong in so many ways. The dev team have said in the past it doesn’t even understand how it figures out its stats.

It’s actually not that bad, only 7 DPS heroes had a below 1% PR in GM, Sombra being one of them but I’d argue she’s fine you just need to specialise with her to make her work
So that leaves 6 heroes

With OWL it’s less diverse with DPS, Genji is still on the lower side, placing in at 5th least played

I’ll agree McCree could use a nerf, and Tracer, but even if those two do get nerfed Genji will still be in a bad spot

I dont think I have even seen a post from him/her complaining about the recent hog buff

I mean, they are still trash

Imho, a mccree nerf will help genji a lot

Very sus indeed :face_with_monocle:

They are trash, but not Genji levels of trash.

It may but Cree is not gatekeeping Genji from existing, hes just making his existence harder but then you still have Ashe who will rise in pickrate after cree is nerfed along with Echo whos only kept in check by hitscans.

Maybe but you can check T500 leaderboards and compare to Overbuff to get an idea on its accuracy
The biggest thing wrong with OB is that it doesn’t collect much data from the Asian region and because of the language barrier, sometimes have completely different concepts on what is meta
But there is enough data there to get a representation on the balance state and it’s the only thing we got other than league data, but OWL plays too coordinated for it to be overly representative
