This list is gonna be geared towards new players and I welcome any thoughts on it from other experienced players. I’m making this list to help the newer players learn what characters counter who.
D.Va - Zarya
Doomfish - Anyone…literally anyone
Junker Queen - Zarya
Orisa - Zarya
Reinhart - A more experienced Zarya
Roadhog - Zarya
Sigma - Zarya
Winston Zarya except she’s really good at aiming her alt fire at targets that jump away from her primary fire
Wrecking Ball- Zarya (Maybe Roadhog if you can land decent hooks but why would you when you can play Zarya instead?)
Zarya - A better Zarya
Literally any DPS except Sombra - Zarya
Sombra - A Zarya with lightning quick reflexes and a pavlovian reaction to the hack sound
Any Support - Zarya
Hope this helps all the new players that may be getting stomped on a particular character. I would recommend keeping this page favorited or bookmarked so you can get back to it quickly for a quick reference, especially if you’re going to play comp.
Pharah - All hitscans
All hitscans - Better hitscans / Dive tanks
Sombruh - Collective spitting (and prayers)

So Zarya counters everybody except Sombra…

Nah, I enjoy sombra exactly how she is honestly. Zarya my Tank Bae and Sombra my DPS Bae (Don’t tell sojourn though)
Also this is just from my experience. Sombra is the only DPS I have issues with handling consistently. Is she a pain? Yes, does she need to be nerfed or is she OP? No.
Zaraya and Dva are more a 50/50 matchup. Zaraya always has to respect Dva can eat her ult and it’s hard for her to out run NERF THIS!
The mobility tanks don’t have to worry about her cause they can zone her.
And for high ground position and Snipers, Zarya is free ult charge counterplay. When in doubt, snipe her out.
Most important Zarya match up. New Junkrat players, please switch heroes. All you are is making Zarya hit her final form.
Too newbie Support teammates, please stop healing cloaked Sombra. Ya killing her stealthy groove
