i love that overwatch devs decide how players are matched i lost so much sr from 1900 to 1700 in a span of less than a few hours and i played heroes that i am good at but was still getting destroyed by all the other teams no matter if i was support damage or tank. just kept on losing funny that overwatch competitive match making is so garbage just like the entire game itself i can’t even name all the issues and everytime the developers put out a new character it breaks and imbalances the game further. i loved this game but it is a complete waste of time don’t even bother playing it. the developers should of kept the game how it was before they introduced brigitte doomfist moira wreckingball, and ashe. you have all the people who complained that brig was too op but in reality she kept everyone else in check. now the game is unplayable and not fun at all anymore sorry blizzard but i am done with your garbage imbalanced trash game. every single time you think you balancing you are not and every time you introduce a new character you trash your even more. Also your competitive system is garbage i don’t know about you but losing every game is not fun. i just can’t play it anymore , until you can really balance your game and take out the trash players who cheat, in your game im out.
Okay, wow, that is a wide range.
The matchmaker is not making you lose hundreds of SR. You’re clearly upset, and I’m willing to bet you play when tilted. That is the easiest way to go on a losing streak.
Hero balance has issues, sure, but they’re constantly working on it, and you can choose the same heroes the opponents do. This isn’t a reason for you losing hundreds of SR. It’s also a little hard to take this point seriously when you imply that Brigitte wasn’t OP.
And cheaters are rare at any rank, but even more so in lower ranks. The worst you’re going to see in Silver are smurf players, which also aren’t common, and most smurfs in Silver are from around Platinum, so not an enormous bump.
Don’t play when tilted and you won’t lose 200 SR straight. Also, it sounds like you might be over flexing. You shouldn’t be hopping between DPS, tank, and support regularly if you want to climb. I didn’t start genuinely climbing until I narrowed my selections and focused on either playing main tank or off-heal. The only time I ever pick off of those two roles on this account is when other teammates have instalocked them.
You speak truth. You are worthy of the stinky fish player icon.
I have to agree there is some odd stuff that happens. I just came out of three games in a row with three different teams where we got steam rolled. Hardly anyone got any kills, we would be grouped up, melted, rinse and repeat. I can have bad games with d.va and still get 15-20 kills. Nope, 3-4-5. It almost felt like I was doing no damage when I know I was hitting shots.
I have not had three games like since last season. Been hovering over 1500 and then down a bit. Bye bye 100 sr. Not even tilted, there is no reason to. But I agree there is some moments where you have to really wonder what is going on
It’s imbalanced since launch. There are 8 characters at any one time, tops, it seems worth playing.
So what? It’s not a serious game, nor was it ever meant to be as far as I can tell. You play a cartoon, in a cartoon game, like a cartoon.
Only 200sr? Thats nothing.
Playing tilted i lost 500 in a day.
Hint, dont play tilted. Stop after 2 losses, walk away for 30mins, come back.
Dont keep grinding.
Also paragraphs are a wonderful thing
Rex? Why aren’t you fighting in the clone wars and instead complaining on a game you shouldn’t even be playing?
Just look at that statement.
Let me highlight a key gem: “i played heroes that i am good at but was still getting destroyed”.
If you are consistently getting destroyed then you are not as good as you like to think you are. It’s called the Dunning-Kruger effect.
We all suffer from it at times. I know I certainly did. I would get so frustrated with the game. Then a friend of mine who regularly competes at GM levels sat next to me and watched me play for a few hours. His feedback was extremely humbling.
I was making so many mistakes that I was oblivious to. I am not taking about ‘bad aim’ either. My positioning was horrible half the time. I wasted ults. I rarely followed up on somebody elses call outs. I would feed the enemy a lot (trickling in instead of waiting to group up). Rarely swapped heros when another hero would have given my team more of an advantage. Having a limited hero pool. The list of my shortcomings at the time went on and on.
The point is - you may think you are ‘good’, but you are not. You consistent losses proves that. Do NOT for a moment think gold medals means you are good. Gold only means you slightly out performed everybody else on your team in that instance. You can have gold damage, elims, objective time, etc and still lose.
My suggestion:
- STOP blaming team mates / the game / the devs / the match maker / leavers / throwers / smurfs
- STOP playing after a couple of losses. My rule is if I lose three in a row, I will not queue for competitive a fourth time. I’ll take a break from the game or queue qp / arcade. If I am frustrated, my ability to make good decisions in game is compromised.
- START recording your own matches, watch them later and be critical of what YOU can do better. Especially if you win a match.
- START watching high SR streamers. Watch how they position, communicate, prioritize targets.
- START getting feedback from better players. If you have friends that are at higher SR, ask them to look at your game play and make suggestions.
Dont waste your time, enjoy the game as it is or dont play.
At this point is obvious and has been addressed by even profesional gamers that the matchmaking is flaw, even blizzard hinted at many chances, so yeah get good, etc…but dont expect that to change anything about a game whit a wide range of balance and community issues.
And pay no attention to the people asking you to convert overwatch in a college degree in neurosciences , it is not, is a game like many other games…and a broken system, which no matter how good you get it will not change.
Theres people in all the elos, talking about the miserable experience, the tilt, the randomness, the awful matchmaking…so there you go.
Enjoy the game as it is.
I enjoy this game way more than fortnite.
Fortnite used to be good in season 1-4, but now it is garbage and broken.
Fortnite is way awesome! It may not be for everyone, but that’s a perfect example of a game being fun win or lose. There are some useless events that they do…like any other game, but base Fortnite, solo, duos and squads are still very fun. More fun as a team game or solo, really.
I dont like fortnite anymore. It is full TTV kids, swords, turrets, shotgun shots not registering, planes just running over you(making u fall to your death), ziplines dropping u for no reason, poor balancing decisions, useless items, no skill explosives, and a huge amount of glitches( that have been in the game since season 5).
just as a reminder, it’s fine to play other games, you don’t have to play overwatch. just don’t be all or nothing. the world is not black or white, it has infinite colours and overwatch is just one of them
and if you stare at one colour too long your eyes adapt to it and it gets paler, stare at other colours once in a while and the one you once loved will be vibrant again
Yeah, I quit comp about half a year ago being a grandmaster. Tried it again a week back, ran straight into triple sniper team, quit and have 0 desire to play again. This game basically forces you to choose certain heroes and to abandon others. I only play mystery heroes now because there is at least some kind of intrigue. And Blizzard keeps rolling out new heroes, when more than half of the roster is basically untouched in qp and comp. I can only imagine what being a tracer main is now, first brig with the killcombo and now ashe who can oneshot them without even using abilities.
Well perhaps the game would be more fun and you could actually have more balanced games if each game in lower elo wasnt a game of who has the smurf and who doesn’t.
Smurfing has gotten so out of hand I am not sure how much longer it will be till smurfs just face other smurfs.
All or nothing definitely doesn’t work for just about everyone… If you don’t enjoy overwatch when you hop on it, don’t play it as often. It’s like eating cake, you may enjoy it sometimes but you shouldn’t eat it all the time or you’ll get sick of it.
200 Sr is nothing bro, i remember days in plat and diamond where i lost like 400-700 points in a day. If you get good you will climb. (or just play easy no skill roles like tank and support).
I climbed from bronze to 3500 playing easy no skill heroes like rein, winston, orisa, mercy, and moira. Just flex between these easy characters and you will rake in the Sr for free.
