Gaming Mouse Advice

Hi, my fellow Overwatchers. This topic is obviously concerning gaming mice. I have been a continual user and purchaser of Razer gaming mice for years now, and honestly, I’m at my wits’ end with their products. I say I’ve been a customer of theirs for years because I have been, over the years, needing to replacing my mice as one or two odd buttons stop working or work inconsistently. This time it’s my left mouse button, which seems to not register clicks or does register clicks but not when holding down said button for continuous fire. This issue is, of course, putting me at a significant disadvantage… And so…

TL,DR My mouse is not working properly, and I need a new one. What gaming mice would you guys suggest I buy, that has an adequate amount of buttons (I also play WoW) and is durable enough to last me my money’s worth?

Thank you in advance, guys! :slightly_smiling_face:

(EDIT: I should add I am kind of new to Overwatch, albeit I play it quite a lot now. I started back in mid-January I think. Anyhoo, please forgive me for what might be newby questions!)

I myself am planning a swap soon. I am thinking about either HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro or a Finalmouse to replace with. My current mouse (a Razer Deathadder Elite) left click has had to be super glued twice now and Razer Synapse tends to malfunction on me every now and then.

Logitech g502, if you want cheap, reliable and high quality mouse with few extra buttons to boot. Would not recommend if you have small hands or get tired easily. That said, mmo and general use mice are generally heavier than fps oriented mouse (who are usually lighter) so they don’t tire you as easily.

I’m not very technology-savvy so don’t want to take my mouse apart as I may not be able to put it together again or even may render it virtually unusable. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

as a reformed Razer user
I went to steelseries and there quality is quite poor aswell

purchased a benq zowie ec1-a and this mouse is insane
simple no software needed
I can see why some ow pros use them

I use a Mionix Naos QG. Cheap and reliable. The heartrate monitor is a huge meme though.

That sounds gimmicky…

I am a part time arcade game technician, so I know my way around components.

I like a lot of what Steel Series has to offer. Mine is a few years old and not in their product listing anymore, so I am not sure about their current offerings, but prior to that my last three mice were all Steel Series (none of them had any problems, I just kept upgrading for more buttons or higher DPI).

Logitech G703 wireless. Never been happier. Easily change your DPI setting with a click of a button and easy to use software too. G403 is basically the same thing if you don’t want the wireless or charging pad option price. I put my mice to the test too as I seem to think if I smash the left click harder I’ll do more damage to the enemy.

There’s a lot to consider such as hand size, whether you palm grip or claw grip, and sensor quality. I’m currently using the roccat kone pure and love it, but a great mouse for me may be a bad mouse for you. Check out rocket jump ninja on youtube. He gives very in depth mouse reviews and you’ll be able to narrow down what should work best for you.

Arcade boards are weird, I recently learned there is such a market just for the boards that people have made fakes from old classic legit boards and just put the game’s rom on them essentially and sold or tried to sell them for big money.

It was largely irrelevant and I disabled it immediately. Additionally, the metal coating has worn away and I don’t even know if it works anymore.

To piggy-back off this, I have the cheaper cousin G402 https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G402-Hyperion-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00LZVNWIA which suits me perfectly because I have smaller hands and it’s a light-weight mouse. But it’s also super precise and has enough buttons (for my needs).

Addressing OP, so if these things are non-issues, the G502, the one Endeavour has, is one of the most highly-rated gaming mice in recent years.

Basically your only logical option is a G502.

Yes there is, which some are legally questionable. However in the arcade industry faces a pandemic that is slowly growing. The older a game gets, the more difficult it is to get support for it. Very soon we will be looking at a time where every arcade game dated before 2004 could go extinct as support for CRT monitors is all but extinct.

If you don’t have huge hands, G305 is pretty damn good, and it’s a 1ms latency wireless mouse that goes up to 8000 dpi. The software is fairly straightforward too. Solid recommendation. Although only two side buttons.

Oh man, it’s like the episode of Cowboy Bebop where the guy has that antiques store full of 90s technology.

I have the g502 and it’s my favorite mouse I’ve ever had. I don’t understand what is considered an “FPS oriented mouse” though? Also why would a lighter mouse by better for FPS? I would have thought a heavier mouse would be better, as you have more control and precision of your movements

I use RAZR death adder mouse and I’m totally fine with it. If you click too hard or abuse the mouse it’ll start to miss clicks sooner. All mice over time need to be replaced.
Don’t spend too much money. Simple mice are fine if you have enough buttons and it feels good to hold
