Gamebreaking aim lag after downloading pre release content

I am legitimately shooting through people, the game feels choppy, my input feels delayed and once on blizzard world all through the game people kept loading in as orbs. Can someone please help me I’ve dropped from top 500 to gm4 dealing with this and I feel I cannot aim anymore.

I’m currently reinstalling the game hopeing that helps. I have tried fiddling with settings.

Everything is set to low, no fsr custom render scale set to 100%. High precision mouse input on.

I use a Razer viper 8k and have tried on all polling rates and it’s the same. From 1khz to 8khz.

I’m at a loss and the game is unplayable right now.

This is more tech support.

I think that’s very unlikely to be why but you could try exiting Battle.net app after launching Overwatch.

When I experience “choppy” output (without the FPS counter dropping) it’s typically been a background app using CPU/GPU/Disk IO. There was a recent bug with Nvidia and Discord, too. A restart generally fixes it for me, and I’ve uninstalled a handful of non-essentials and that has helped. Anti-virus can do it. Backup software can do it. All these Corsair|Steelseries|Logitech stuff can be doing things.

Unrelated but the bug that resets the sensitivity to a whole number is still present after a couple weeks. That inevitably messes with my aim every time I play.

I did check processes and something was writing to disk at 1% is that normal? I don’t feel in control of my aim anymore and it sucks.

U think just a restart should help?

I had an issue earlier today where I swapped from Rein to Winston and for whatever reason I couldn’t see gun, it’s tesla bolts; I couldn’t hear any of the gun’s SFX; and some players were little floating, red orbs. Was very difficult to play

alright so an update my game plays like trash and i cannot hit the side of a barn. everything feels delayed this is after the patch. i dont have this issue in any other game and my scores are the same if not better in aimlabs. i cant figure it out and its annoying me its like a good half second delay on all character models and my click and mouse latency it just feels extremely frustrating to play with.

I have always played Overwatch in borderless windowed mode because for some unknown reason whenever I play the game in Fullscreen I get what you were describing, my aim is severely delayed. I noticed something was weird after downloading the latest patch and saw that the game had changed itself to Fullscreen mode from the patch download, so perhaps that could be the issue for you as well. Other than that, it could be that you have too little space on your disk and have to remove some unnecessary files for the game to run properly. Hope you find a fix.

i went back and forth between windows 10 and 11 did all sorts of performance tweaks to windows, undervolted and overclocked cpu and gpu to where it was stable tried different ow exe settings but nothing fixes the microstutter issue for me.

with the recent match quality with mixed ranks and the just horrible community that plays this game things in a 5v5 setting have just been bad for ow. to me personally at least. i made it to gm across all roles and the matches feel like im playing in bronze lobbies every game its not rewarding or fresh at all so this might actually be my last post as i uninstalled overwatch and battle.net.

hopefully yall can have more fun with this game than i did.
