I can’t start Overwatch after today’s patch. I get the following error: “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)”. I tried to repair, uninstall and install again, restart the computer, but nothing makes it work. I have the same issue on Steam, but I get no error dialog. The game just won’t start.
I have Error as well i can’t open the game cuz when i do it shows 0xE0010FF0
I also cannot start the game since the update today (2.13.0.1.131376). Same error on three different machines. I get a 0xE0010FF0 error and it pretends to write a log, but the produced log file has size zero. This is the fourth update within a month that makes the game unable to start (last three got fixed by blizzard by reverting to a previous version). Isn’t there any quality management?
- Does the GPU meet the system requirements?
- Did you do a clean install of your GPU drivers?
For me, the “general error (0xE0010FF0)” happens on three different machines after the update today, which all were able to run the game with high fps and high settings until before the update. So, yes, the system requirements are more than just met. Nothing was changed on the machines, except that OW2 updated itself. So the issue must clearly be in the update and not in something else on the machines. Also, OW2 is the only game that is not working. So, the GPU drivers are definitely fine.
same here, everything was fine, last night i was playing with no problem, but then today i tried to enter the game and it only appear the window before launching the game. i also dont think its the drivers or gpu, everything runs well… i need help too
I have also the same error (0xc000007b), no solution found…
Can you provide specs for those 3 machines (CPU/GPU)?
The lowest specked system is an i7-4790K with a GTX1080TI and OW2 did until now run on that without any issues.
Hi, Nicole.
Yes. I run the game at 144 hz/fps
I was playing it while it was updating. The game required me to restart prohibiting me from searching for a new game. When it finished, the game didn’t work anymore.
Clean NVIDIA reinstall did not work. I already tried installing DirectX End-User Runtime Web but no success.
My other Blizzard games like Diablo and Hearthstone are fine and were not affected.
My machine is an Intel i7-2600 with NVIDIA 1650 Super.
Also cannot play. Was fine yesterday and update and it quit opening. Same error as above. I scanned and repaired and it prompted a small update but nothing else works.
Are any of you playing on a Mac? I saw another thread about CrossOver and Mac, but that isn’t a supported operating system.
Nope, windows 10, i tried reinstalling the game but still doesnt work
Having the same general error (0xE0010FF0) as DeFi. I’ve tried every fix I can find and still can’t get it to launch. Rocking a 6950xt and 5800x3D.
I have the same error code 0xc000007b I have tried multiple fixes and nothing works
same error as OP - 0xc000007b. game will not launch, have (never?) had an issue like this since starting OW1 in 2016. sfc /scannow, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth report nothing. scan and repair for OW in the launcher reports nothing. uninstalling and re-installing yields no progress. however, this problem does not occur on my W11 partition (only my W10/server 2019 partitions are effected). super weird but whatever.
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)”. I tried to repair, uninstall and install again, restart the computer…
I also did the file scan from the Bizzard app.

This error happened immediately after the latest OW2 update, and it only comes up after I attempt to start OW2.
I can play Call of Duty 6 with no problems.
The Blizzard Game Version is 2.13.0.1.131376 Region: Americas
I’ve been having the same issue with the same error. I’ve tried patching and repairing and it has not worked. I’ve also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as just restarting my laptop. Have never had this issue before and was playing just fine just yesterday. I can open the Battle.net launcher and such with no issue. I can also run other games on my laptop just fine, so its an issue exlusive to OW2.
