Overwatch 2 simply won’t launch no matter what I try. I press play, it says it is launching, then the button stays greyed out saying “playing now” with no changes. My task manager says nothing has changed, not during the supposed launching and not during the supposed playing. I’ve done most everything I can think of.
I’ve done a full reinstall
I’ve scanned and repaired with no problems found
I’ve reset the in-game options
I’ve updated my NVIDIA drivers
I’ve turned off my anti-virus
The most obnoxious part is that I thought I’d found a way to make it work by ensuring every piece of software on my computer was updated and turning off my anti-virus. I’ve even managed to play over the past few days, but no. Right back to where I started.
Sometimes it works when you start the game directly from the folder, not the launcher but exe itself, make sure you close the game properly in task manager first
Yeah there are a million other posts like this, but the priority is fixing the shop
The cause is either 2 things:
Razer Chroma dll files (just delete them)
Byfron Anti Cheat (pray for an update)
For me is the latter and had no luck. I tried to fix Overwatch-loader.dll by hand and injecting code but it gets corrupted and is re-downloaded.
The funny thing is that in hacking forums legit players are having this problem, while actual hackers are working around it and the game is out from not even a solid week.
Pitiful. If you have to use these half-assed anti cheat don’t bother. Not to mention Byfron support is unaccessible because they got bought by Roblox.
