Game launch on wrong monitor and extremly low fps

Hi !
So i reinstalled overwatch the other day, and when i open it, it launches on the wrong monitor ( on the laptop screen instead of my monitor ), and i have super low fps in the menu ( around 10 fps ).

I updated my drivers and everything. Anyone else had this issue ?

The game launching on the wrong monitor means you need to change it in the overwatch settings to the correct one, or do a clean install of your drivers. It might be running on the integrated GPU.

yeah so you were right, it is the game using integrated graphics. But i can’t seem to find a workaround

Clean install the driver like I mentioned?

Howdy!

If a clean install of the driver doesn’t help. You may need to check the following:

  1. Make sure the monitor’s cable is plugged into the GPU not the motherboard. (If you are on a laptop you can skip this step.)

  2. Press (Windows key + Q) Type in: Graphics Settings → Select Graphic settings to open it. Select: Browse → Find the Overwatch.exe by default it should be: C:\Program Files(x86)\Overwatch_retail_\Overwatch.exe select this. Now back on the Graphics Settings window within the Overwatch window select: Options → Select High Performance → Save then retest!

Additional steps that may help:

  • Set your Operating System to High Performance power profile following the steps Here.

  • NVIDIA Steps: Right click on your Desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Under the Global Settings tab → Select: Power Management mode → Prefer Maximum Performance. Apply → Exit the window.

Thank you!

yep i did a clean install of my nvidia drivers, made sure in the specs that it’s supposed to use the right GPU, still launches on the wrong gpu …

Did you try the steps from the staff above also?

hi there ! So i did all the steps and the issue is still there unfortunatly …

Try making a new admin account, maybe the game doesn’t have permission to access the GPU.

yes i did, still the same issue :frowning:

Make sure the GPU is still showing up as a device on your system.

it still does, also the new account didn’t change anything unfortunatly.

It sounds like you might need to get a local PC technician involved in this situation. Perhaps your power supply is bad and not delivering enough power to the standalone GPU. They would have tools to test that.

thanks for all the your help ! i’ll try to find someone, but it’s only happening on overwatch, every other games i play launches on the right monitorm and use the right gpu …
