Game keeps minimizing

Whenever I launch the game, the loading screen comes up for a few seconds before suddenly minimizing to my desktop. When I click the game in my taskbar, it flashes and then opens up for another second or two before minimizing again. I can hear the menu audio in the background, but for whatever reason it just keeps minimizing when I try to open it up again.

I’ve figured out that I can keep the game maximized if I rapidly click the screen during the second or two the menu shows up, and from there I can go into settings and change it from fullscreen to windowless bordered. However, doing so on my system causes a massive performance hit and I would very much prefer it so be on fullscreen.

Any clue as to what my issue is? I have an external monitor plugged in, but unplugging it doesn’t fix anything. Plus, I’ve been using it for a while now without any problems. This issue has only been affecting me today, and I haven’t drastically changed anything with my setup.

I tried running the scan and repair, it didn’t find anything. I have no clue what could be causing the problem.

This happens when another program is stealing the window focus from the Overwatch client. It’s usually firewall software, but it can also be malware. I recommend getting a copy of Window Focus Logger, which will tell you exactly which process is forcing Overwatch to minimize.

Using the program, I discovered that it kept minimizing because of a program called RAVCpl64.exe, which is the Realtek audio control panel. Launching the control panel and then x-ing out seemed to fix the problem.

I have no idea why it started affecting me now, and I have no idea if it will affect me again in the future, but for now that seemed to fix the issue. Thank you!

Awesome, glad it’s sorted!
