Game initialization failed: D

I’m getting an error when trying to load Overwatch that states: “Game initialization failed: D”

Deleting the Blizzard and EA directories in C:\ProgramData doesn’t resolve the issue.

Any ideas?

Howdy!

This error often is reported when the game fails to interact with resources like drivers needed to run the game. Permission issues may also cause this error.

I’d recommend to check the following:

  • Make sure your Operating System is fully updated. You can manually check for updates Here.
  • Same goes for your graphic drivers which are the most common reason for this error. Nvidia and AMD just released new driver updates, Nvidia’s was today.
    (Restart the computer)
  • If the game is installed on another drive. Try checking Secondary Logon and right clicking on the Blizzard app to run it as administrator.

If the issue continues try posting your Dxdiag up. Make sure to highlight the contents of your Dxdiag and select the code block icon </>. This action will make the information easier and faster for us to review.

I am having a problem on PlayStation console

I bought The game yesterday on PlayStation4 and installed but can’t open the game it says “game installing” but there is no progress. I deleted the game and installed again but nothing changed. What can I do
