I had contacted Blizzard Support with deciding whether I would have to delete my Battle. net in order to reset my Overwatch game data or if I could do it without.
However, apparently there is no way to reset the data. And deleting my account would mean having to buy a new game.
The staff member told me that I might have a chance at getting heard by Blizzard developers here. I thought this was a more bigger issue outside of Overwatch and could be an option for any game connected to a Battle. net account.
I would appreciate having this option… I am unsure as to if this option seems odd but I thought it’d be nice to have the opportunity to a clean slate.
Like taking over a family member’s neglected account but wanting to start your own.
I’m not sure if anyone else feels the same but the option seems nice for those who can’t afford to buy a whole new game. Does anyone have any feelings towards this? It may be a dumb idea but I was wondering if it made some sense at least.

They want you do buy a new copy to reset. My main account here is forever in low to mid gold because it’s also using data from when I first started playing the game. I’ve since got better but it’s still averaging in all those bad games of mine.
I got an second account a year ago and it’s in diamond. Go figure.

If they did this they would have to make that you can only restart it once a year so people are not consistently resetting it

Comp mode should only use data up to 2 seasons past.
QP/Arcade MMR should only use data from the past 6 months.
No reset needed, just don’t use data from day 1 when you logged in.

I’d be keen on this. I’ve got too many skins to ever buy a new account, but I’ve been playing since beta and comp has changed so much since then I’d love a clean slate.

Yes, this makes sense. It sounds fair to me and I can understand the need for that sort of restriction.

at least give me an option to spend the money it would cost for a new account to wipe my statistics because i want to keep my skins and whatnot. I just hate the game-play when i’m stuck with people who are so much lower in skill than me. the game isn’t even fun at that point.
this is such a predominant issue, and it blows my mind that blizzard is too pompous to address it. they always seem to think their dev team has everything figured out, and act like the complaints are just from people who dont know what they’re talking about. overwatch would be so much better for them if they’d LISTEN TO THE PLAYERBASE.

PS: Sigma has a bug that occurs when he’s using his shift ability and is stunned before completing it. it leaves the first person perspective with his left hand lifted until you use that cooldown again.
