Game-breaking lag spikes

I keep having recurring lag spike issues in Overwatch where my ping will shoot from ~50ms to ~500ms. I’ve added a wired connection to no avail, and speedtests show me maintaining consistent <50ms ping, so I suspect it has to do with routing to Blizzard.

I ran WinMTR during 2 comp games where I got lag spikes. Pasting below. Note that I’m breaking the “comcast. net” links so it lets me post the results. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue. Any other game I play is fine but as soon as I get into a match in Overwatch, its basically unplayable.

It looks like your latency is jumping up to 582ms when reaching the first ISP hub. You may want to contact the ISP to have them investigate what’s causing this issue.

In the mean time, you can try testing another network like a mobile hotspot to compare the difference.
