3-4 maybe for me. You donât get to decide what is fun. Blizzard do. Like said above. If you like certain less popular heroes then youâre out of luck.
2 at best iâd say, I feel like Overwatch is turning into one of those RIP Triple A gaming situations, it makes me sad.
5-6 for me
Things just started to get better in general but they once again took steps forward only to take leaps backward in terms of fun. As a lot of people are saying, theyâre trying to decide what heroes and strategies are âapprovedâ at this point.
Probably around 4 - 5.
Might increase when Reaper, Mei, Symm, Hanzo and Torb changes all hit live and actually improve these heroes without braking the game.
Basically a summary of the above posts.
7
Just about every character is good in the right context.
Iâd put in a 7-8.
Overwatch has Heroes which have WILDLY different abilities. That the game is as well balanced as it is - is a credit to the overwatch devs.
It would be NOT easy to balance this game.
6 or 7. Every character has a time when theyâre the ideal pick, but many of those situations are pretty rare. Nobody is game-breakingly strong or completely useless. A variety of strategies are strong, and strategies vary depending on the map.
So what if that context is ridiculously small, then overall theyâre not good, that doesnât logically work
No? Because heroes are meant to not be good in every situation. Some heroes are up and some op, but most of them are being looked at, and even with that, most of them work in their situations.
Symmetraâs first rework was an obvious fail, left her in the trash for 2 years.
Mei was nerfed because crybabies didnât like being frozen and couldnât comprehend the term âdonât 1v1 herâ, also had to wait over a year for a BUG FIX. Left her in the trash for 2 years.
Bastion. Poor bastion.
Torbjorn. Poor torbjorn.
Sombra who originally had a 0.44% pickrate was given a buff that couldâve made her better. Despite the overwhelming statistics that suggested she wasnât really any more favored, nerfed her because of crybabies. Pickrate went back down to 0.64%
Reworked Mercy into a mess that has forever divided the communities opinion of her state of balance.
Itâs also widely believed that they base balance around Tracer (lol)
yet we have heroes good in every situation with extremely rare exceptions, that arenât being looked at, youâre living in âeverything is fineâ and itâs clearly not
Get real.
The balance is far closer to 10, than it is to 1.
Mercyâs last version? That is a balance problem.
DVa and Tracer right now? Approaching that level.
If everything was âMercy with instant Rezâ level of bad, it would be a 1, but its not.
You have general heroâs.
You have map design that favours certain heroâs.
You have niche heroâs.
And you have a âcommunityâ that has no clue what balance would actually look like, when taking those things into account.
Iâd give the balance a 7.
Says the guy who plays characters Blizzard wants people playing! Lucioâs in no immediate danger save for when heâs hacked. Which I admit is BS. Zenâs nerfâŚweâll see. And ReinhardtâŚLOOOL.
I said there are exceptions, and even those only consist of Dva whos being nerfed, Tracer if your good and Zen somewhat.
I play Team First heroâs, and dont force niche picks that dont get the job done.
Issue?
EDIT: NM, I looked at your profile, I see the issue.
Balance is not an issue for me. Itâs actually fairly good. Of course there are some improvements to be made with Brigitte, but beyond that itâs good.
My biggest issue is the lack of LFG system w/ role filter or a role queue. That, my pain level is 15 and rising at this point.
(Shouldnât 10 be most painful? If going by the voice line)
Give me ONE reason to pick Symmetra over other heroes, or Reaper over Junkrat/Roadhog/Tracer.
