Funny bastion "exploit" #2 (since devs refuse to fix it)

As many of you know, when using turret mode, Bastion has this ugly red ui + his own crosshair. It costs fps, makes visibility worse, serving no purpose. It uses as much gpu as ultra reflections or shadows and will cause more clutter than any of these settings.

imgur com/a/TmIZT9t - looks 10 times worse in motion.

OW2 already has a ton of visual clutter, the hitreg is worse on tracking heroes, and Bastion deals like 100 damage per month at >100 meters.
He also has a muzzle flash that covers half of the screen, might not be a problem for 240hz tn crap users but most of us are <144 hz plebs.
And when u get shot by a Sojourn, her projectlies and the red glow make bastion 2 times worse than he is, u basically have have a hard time dueling her in your effective range.

The “exploit” is:
Turn on external crosshair (in your monitors settings) if you cant feel the center of the screen or draw one. Bind toggle ui to mouse4/mouse5 and use it when going into turret mode. Makes tracking easier, especially on red-ish maps.

I would really appreciate it if some fellow Bastion main could bump this thread until they remove this part of recycled content from 2015 (that was copypasted from the tank mode).

Are you playing on a old packard bell with a voodoo3 or something?

Do this:

  1. Set render scale to 200%
  2. Uncap fps (i dont uncap but i do set it to 577 (144*4+1))

Look at the gpu usage/frames with ui off and on. Now imagine the people that play on mid gpus like 1050 or 1060, they are the majority of playerbase, look at steam hardware stats. Sudden jump in gpu usage leads to fluctating input latency, lets say from 24 ms to 60 ms (from 39% usage to 99%).

Even if we forget about frames and gpu usage, this thing should not exist. This game already has a ton of clutter. Play bastion urself, ask for a damage boost, take a few screenshots while getting shot by a sojourn.
