Turns out, there’s supposed to be 6 members of the group. One of them is out temporarily due to some accusation controversy.
Sorry lads, that’s one less Korean beauty to stare at.
Oh boy time to rename another hero to Cassidy 2
The only Korean beauty I need to stare at is Tokki.
The little Sears mannequin that pilots her is cool too, I guess.
Well thats why only 5 are featured in the collab then.
I don’t even know who or what Le Sserafim is. I thought it was a kid’s show or something.
Garam left the group. She is not in Le Sserafim. The 5 members (and let’s be prudent when we talk about staring at them; Garam and an active member are minors) are the complete line up. Garam had a bullying scandal and was subsequently ejected from the group shortly after debut.
It basically is. It’s as if Disney created an industry to pump out popstar groups;
- Generally generic, overhyped music
- Too many groups crowding the market
- Diehard niche fanbases for every random group
- It’s super tough/competitive trying to get into the industry
- Workers overworked and overmanaged
- Insane beauty/social standards (some can’t even date. Largely due to culture, cosmetic surgery is very common. You can see some of the transformations and I find it kind of sad all these talented and often, already attractive people undergo surgery because they don’t fit stupid beauty standards. )
All this means, they’re also very sanitized / sensitive to any kind of controversy and I’d argue, overly sanitized at times due to a lot of the fanbase being parasocial weirdos. It’s fine to be fans but those people get mad if a k-pop member they like, actually does normal human things, has flaws, and has a human life apart from their k-pop persona. I wouldn’t recommend OW trying to get too many people from k-pop fanbases to join this community if they aren’t already here because the last thing this game needs is that level of toxicity on top of the cesspool that already exists.
Also a fun fact: Sakura used to be in AKB48. One of japan’s biggest girl groups. Le sserafim is a new group but she’s been an idol for 12 years. And she’s only 25.
The solution is to stan 2nd gen groups only
Fun fact about Roly:
Torb
It would just be a drop in the ocean.
Me: “I like BTR”
K-Pop fan: “You mean BTS?”
Me: “No man, it’s Big Time Rush”
Early 2010’s was a good time to be alive. Nickelodeon really hitting big with these guys.
oh no, no no no no no no no no no no no…OW’s toxicity has nothing on a lot of the creatures who are k-pop/idol “stans”. for one, all these flirting voicelines would disappear because it wouldn’t be worth the safety risk of the company officially “shipping” or even hinting at the “wrong” pairing.
Most of the k-pop/idol fanbase are a special kind of weirdo, as well. It’s best to not try to mix those kinds of people with too many other groups and let them self-isolate as much as possible. There are of course, good music and things to enjoy from the creators/artists in those spaces but you never want to go too deep down that rabbit hole.
NEVER. GET. TOO. DEEP. INTO. K-POP.
Hopefully she milked the industry as much as she could and can now relax because being 25 means she’s on her way out of the idol industry and is generally considered “old” by the community/fanbase.
Good thing the game is 5v5 now.
Too bad 5v5 was a mistake to begin with.
Shipping discourse is already an issue with this game and many others. Gamers in general are way more caustic than kpop stans, and that’s saying something… i think this is just not a big deal, especially when the collab is with a non-Blackpink girl group.
Plot twist: They prepared 5v5 just for this collaboration.
what percentage of OW community even knows what Sears is…
At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me any at all.
I don’t know… what percentage goes to malls?
Nah, especially not on that issue. k-pop stans are way more feral about their favorite idol’s private life and who/if they decide to share their privates with someone else (like a normal person).
People, especially in this community, may get upset because S76 is gay or Mercy likes Pharah instead of Genji but it hasn’t gotten to the point of being considered a “scandal”, Blizzard releasing an apology, and Mercy/S76 being removed from the game because of it…and these are just fictional characters I’m talking about. The parasocial antics around real people (with fake personas) is way worse because degenerates actually think they have a chance with these people they’ve never even met.
Of course it’s not. I just generally think the k-pop stans should stick with the k-pop stan groups as much as possible and I like to take jabs at the crazies of the bunch. All communities don’t need to mix, nobody wants to see a flat-earthers X incels collab.
