New seasons are such a waste. Full reset every 4 seasons. People buy new accounts and are instantly 2 ranks higher. It’s impossible to climb with an old low elo account. I have 4 accounts and every is much higher than my first. Why are there new seasons, when u start where you end. Yes there will be uneven matches, but yes that will be interesting. Mixing things up will be challenging, but loosing every placement and be at the same rank before is just laughable. The game should treat every account at a new season like a new one!

Agreed. At this point, they should rework the comp points system and give points for a win, and have seasons change when a large patch of nerfs and buffs comes through.

Reset ranks every 6m/1y, start everyone from 0 and get rid of matchmaking. Now that would be awesome…
There are 837 threads requesting SR/MMR resets, and in everyone of them knowledgeable people explain why it is an absolutely HORRIBLE idea, and will just create chaos for months on end before everybody ends up around the same rank. Nothing is gained, a lot is lost. Please read those threads.

How about we just subtract 2000 SR from your SR every 6 months? Manipulating/resetting MMR and SR only cause problems.
Yeah cuz getting to a rank and camping there forever is so much more fun than the excitement of climbing ranks after a new season.
Competitive play isn’t about climbing or grinding. It’s about making matches as fair as possible to have good, close games. If you want to climb forever (which means someone else is falling, and the games are more imbalanced), find another game.
Yeah that’s not even funny so I’ll just stop it here.

I play more than 25 games per season. So that would be fine with me.

There might be a misconception here. The Matchmaker is not trying to make a fair match. It is trying to make a match that will make the players want to play more. Subtle difference. By repeating the ‘fair’ property it doesn’t really have, we are falling into a logical trap about ascribing qualities to the system we believe in.

Just reset per season and make people grind up from 1-2 ranks below their final sr. Sorry if ur 10hrs/season masters account will have to climb through plat, but your smurf at 80 hrs/season was holding most of ur practice sr anyway.
However HORRIBLE of an idea it might be, it is already happening everytime someone creates an alt / smurf account, so it is not a yes/no decision but a pick your poison choice.

- Alt accounts do not do that. Only people who purposely lose games, which can be an alt or a main account.
- Having an issue affect <5% of accounts is better than forcing it upon 100% for no reason. It solves nothing and has only harms.
