Frustrated with Moira

I’m trying Moira but I don’t seem to do enough heals… my team is spread out all the time and I can’t just keep fading and following them to heal… with mercy I can simply do that by flying to them like going to the high grounds or distant teammates… do you have any tips for me or should I just switch back to Zen and Mercy?

Moira does better when her team is close together. In cases where they’re spread out pretty much any other healer is better.

Just please don’t dps

If you have a team like that, try to save your heal orbs for them. Other than that, there’s not much you can do. Maybe try communicating with them to come back for heals

Then why do I hear a lot of praise for Moira and calling her the best healer in the game ? Those people get lucky by having a team that’s gathered together or what?

Go Mercy, honestly. When your team is all spread out and not communicating, Moira is pretty bad.

Healers are very dependent on the team comp. Zen is much better in a roaming flanker-heavy comp since he can heal from range and doesn’t need as much throughput as tanky comps. Moira is obviously better with deathball with her short range, piercing healing.

I think when referring to Moira and best, they’re not referring to her healing. Not a single person I’ve noticed complains about the strength of her healing. In fact, that’s ALL some people want her to do. People say she’s best because they think her range is too good, or that orb is too easy, or that fade is too short on cooldown. It’s the offensive aspects people have trouble with, not the healing ones.

Might as well pick Mercy then. Moira has to DPS to refill her healing. Moira gets a bad rap, but I’d bet a lot of really good Moiras look like they’re only dealing damage, but if you checked their stats they’d have quite a bit of healing too.

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear. I meant that if a Moira is only doing dps and not healing, I love Moira and don’t have anything against her, she is not broken and when played skilfully, is a great character

You need to understand this is a very situational game, thats why the developers encourage flexing, so moira as a healer is the same, it depends on your team and the situation, healing in some cases its not a one man or woman´s job.

Use healing orb for stranglers and use fade to close the distance. If neither is possible, do damage.

Ultimately, it’s the rest of the teams job to keep track on the healer and not getting too far away. If you have a Moira as main healer you can’t expect heals from across the map. That’s where the second support steps in.

Moira is a hero that is built for grouped up teams. She has the highest healing that can also affect multiple targets. She is best paired with tanks. Although she works best in those conditions she can be used in most other comps besides dive. In dive your team will be too spread out and your fade wont be enough mobility to both keep up and survive. Blizzard has been making heroes more situational, so in this case yes Mercy or Zen would be a better pick, unless you are struggling to survive. Its better to have an okay support that lives rather than a great support that is always dead.

Don’t play Moira with a spread out team. Her entire design is to heal allies in a group configuration.

I apperciate the replies thanks everyone!

Because people have no idea what they are talking about. She has pros and cons. When your team is spread out all over the place she’s pretty terrible at healing. Stick to Mercy. She’s still good.

I find Moira to be more useful in high ranks due to people staying together.

If possible try to communicate to your team to group up more. If not, it’s just best to switch healers.
