Burger:
12oz / 340g ground beef
1 teaspoon / 1.5g crushed red chili flakes
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt, to taste
2 slices cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons / 28g unsalted butter
2 canned pineapple rings
2 slices red onion, separated into rings
2 eggs
Toppings:
2 hamburger buns, toasted
2 leaves of lettuces
2 slices of tomato
4 slices of pickled beets
4 slices of cooked bacon
In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, chili flakes, and garlic, and then form into two patties. Sprinkle liberally with salt.
Bring a frying pan to medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the burgers, letting them sear on one side for about 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferences, and then flipping them over for another 3-5 minutes. Top each burger wit ha slice of cheddar cheese, remove from the pan, and keep warm while you prepare the rest of the toppings.
Turn the heat down to medium, and then add the butter to the same pan. Sear the pineapple rings for a minute or so, until brown. Set aside. Add the onion rings to the pan and cook for several minutes, until soft. Set these aside too. Finally, fry the eggs in the pan until the yolks are just set, around 3 minutes.
To assemble the burgers, start with the bun and add a layer of lettuce and tomato, then the beets and the pineapple, then the burger patty, bacon, onion, and top with the fried egg.
very relateable.
I used to work as a chef, but changed profession because it drained my passion for cooking
But now i still love to cook and bake at home
Yep! We add an egg (and onions) when mixing the meat cause we generally buy extra lean burger and need something to help bind it together on the grill since it lacks the usual fat.
i imagine that the beef you are meant to use for is more a of 50/50 mix, with the egg here serving as just another topping, to add some juice to teh borgar
