It’s problems for the most part come down to monetisation (all of which is optional) and their wishy washy approach to PvE
Gameplay, music, character design, art direction, voice acting, accessibility, UI etc. all range from pretty good to stellar.

Everyone claiming “review bombing” but if you look at those reviews TONS of them are OW1 players saying how they feel about the game.
Sure some people are doing memes and giving a neg for sake of it, but outside of those tons of them reviews are legit
The funny thing is most of the positive reviews are memes as well, you took away the meme negatives and the meme positives. Overwatch 2 would be sitting at like 5% like rating.
And this is coming from people who’ve never played OW2 but it’s curious to see everyone beg for the return of OW1 when it’s apparently so different but basically “the same game” at the same time.

I think the issue here is that all of y’all have convinced yourself that review bombing in general is something good and valiant when lots of people find it insufferable. I’m not going to review bomb any game or product because that is pure loser behaviour. Don’t care who does it, who it’s done to or why it’s done. 
The whole point of review bombing is to artificially inflate the negative perception of the game. If we look at concurrent players and sales for OW2 on Steam, you’ll realise that most people who play the game aren’t spending their evenings review bombing. People who have no qualms are rarely going to take the time to constantly voice their satisfaction whereas the inverse is always the case.
I mean, this forum is a prime example. I and almost everyone else on here only joined because we had issues we wanted to voice about the game.

That definitely explains Overwatch, a game developed by Blizzard, becoming GOTY and a solid game for years until Jeff and his team decided to stop updating OW1 for OW2. Now that we’re getting updates and new content, you’d think people would stop going on about the train wreck that was the final 4 years of Overwatch but apparently not.
This coming from the same people who don’t play the game and only interact with the game by review bombing and being miserable. PLSSSS.

The game is still very good. It’s just everyone is mad about how they got treated for the best part of 3 years.
You can’t (with a straight face) say the game isn’t good, and if it released today without any previous knowledge it would still be a kickass game.
The hate is warranted, but the game can’t be that poor if even in OW2 alone a lot of these angry people are sitting on the best part of 2k hours played. That’s not me saying it’s perfect. Blizzard has a lot of making up to do.
It’s a really simple concept. Blizzard doesn’t care as long as wealthy idiots keep dumping money on skins, battle passes, shallow PVE, murloc plushies, Overwatch merch, etc. They don’t care about reviews, they don’t care about what we say on the forums, they care about POSITIVE CASH FLOW and REVENUE and that’s IT. They’re not going to fix or change anything because fixing and changing it is adverse to their business model. If you think it’s not, then you’re probably one of the naive people who keep throwing money at Blizzard. Stop giving Blizzard money for subpar, garbage products. Your time is VALUABLE. You don’t get any of your time back! Stop wasting time on garbage games!
