In season 3 after my first placments going 3/7 I was placed 1590. I soon dropped to 1300 otherwise known as bronze. I didn’t think I belonged in the bottom 8% of the playerbase but I was bad at the game. I always had that “i belong higher mindset” and didn’t improve. However I followed steps and practiced daily and soon I got through all ranks till I got masters yesterday. Here is the secret to climbing in overwatch.
1:correct setup
Mouse acceleration off
Gaming mouse
Large mouse pad(10x10 inch at least)
Around 4000-5000 edpi(dpi x ow sense)
60 frames minimum(144 is nice)
Comfertable table and chair
2.mindset
Never be toxic no matter what(incase of reamatching with teamates). If you are on a lose streak stop playing your most likely not trying or toxic. Always press p and check if anyone is a 1 trick or someone is not playing their role(ie a mercy main playing mccree or a dps main playing Reinhardt)
3.meta/hero choice
Follow the meta be able to flex to key heros like dva mercy winston soldier. But also have your select choice of mains and never try a new hero in comp always practice in qp and custom games. Try to let 1 tricks play their own hero and flex to heroes that no one on your team can play if you know how to flex on a high level. 1 tricking is viable but I flexed my way up.
5.just play fast. Play around 8 hours a week at least to improve and improve and warmup aim on mccree in practice range or use tracer genji in qp to become a faster player.
Last tip is don’t be dumb. If someone is higher rank than you let them dps. Don’t run double main tank or double off tank. Don’t play ana just cause “she’s high skill tier” mercy or Moira is 80% of the time better. Don’t tell your widow 1 trick to swap they suck harder on other heroes.

However something concerns me:
What if they aren’t playing their role? What does it realistically matter? You gonna call them out? Ask them to change?
If you’re just going to play around it why check if they are not on their “main role”?
If a soldier main picks widow, politely ask them to switch
Which causes them to tilt. Good job.
Only in lower ranks. Anyone who responds to a politely stated request with tilt either isn’t in a high rank or won’t be there for long LOL
You’re essentially calling a strange stupid and implying that your decision about their gameplay is better than theirs.
Not to mention you’re giving humanity too much credit.

Well most people play widow for picks but if the soldier 1 trick plans on staying on widow the whole game he clearly doesn’t want to win. Might as well ask for a soldier
