My recommendation is even on that display to use g-sync if you have nvidia card.
Set g-sync on; enable v-sync for the app (in nvidia control panel, not in game) and either enable nvidia reflex - or - limit fps to 350 or so.
Youll have buttery smooth image with no tearing and no added input lag.
you may have to enable g-sync both in monitor and in Nvidia control panel as well for the monitor specifically for it to apply fully - with “g sync compatible” monitors its sometimes like that.
Also tap the “enable settings for selected display” if you see that option.
edit: now i remember i’ve seen a bug in nvcp that sometimes it just doesnt show all menus, but just like three or four top ones.
Reboot or driver install sometimes fixes it or fiddling with other monitor settings.
You need a compatible monitor to use G-SYNC anyways, so check that first. If you don’t have a compatible monitor then cap your FPS to 360 with rivatuner and see if that fixes the stuttering (along with all the other settings, of course)
I genuinely just tried all these settings out, I don’t think its just placebo, I think it actually made a difference to the smoothness of my game lol. Honestly not 100% sure I’m just forcing my eyes to see it but it looks so much smoother
Felt like I was playing at around 200hz before even after confirming a billion times that I was at my monitor refresh rate. Best indicator was playing sustained damage heroes like Tracer or Soldier and watching the healthbars. The healthbars looked extremely choppy
Anyways thanks for the info. Could not for the life of me figure out why my game did not look smooth, even after the lowering fps to 30, playing for 5 minutes then bringing it back to 360 trick. I tried the game on my brothers monitor before (same 360hz oled just different brand) and it looked the same, so I kinda gaslit myself into thinking 360hz was just meant to look this choppy. Perhaps it was a problem with my settings this entire time
Yeah just going over your monitor hz will have the absolute lowest input lag - but you may have other “issues” like tearing etc that may be distracting. The higher HZ monitor, the less visible tearing will also be, but even at 360hz i still noticed it.
It varies from person to person how annoying they find it - i dislike all sorts of tearing a lot.
This is an ini file, you’ll have to open Notepad to be able to edit it.
And I wouldn’t do it unless you really know what you’re doing, as this can really screw up your computer.
Just as an FYI, a lot of these settings won’t fix any thing unless your monitor is recent enough to support refresh rates above 100hz. Even frame rates won’t go above refresh rates.
You’re a bit late to the party lol, shoe’s problems already got fixed. Also
Lmao what? All it does is store graphics settings for the game. It literally resets them if you set them outside of their predetermined ranges so there’s literally 0 risk of you messing up something critical. At worst you’ll need to reset your ingame graphics settings
??? What settings specifically are you referring to that magically stop working under 100hz? Having a frame rate greater than your refresh rate decreases input latency btw, so there is a point to doing that.
Most top GMs have that despite whatever many will claim about their reaction though it’s not compulsory, also you are young wait till you hit 30s, actually you won’t notice much difference at 30s more likely at 50-60s you may see 50-60ms increase.
Running a 15 year old Samsung monitor that still uses a DVI input before HDCP became standard to HDMI. The refresh rate is capped at 60, but could always go above that frame rate once I got newer video cards.
The problem was that you can get massive screen tearing, though.
