I just don’t understand why someone would make a first person shooter and then put characters in the game that don’t need to aim?
it was meant to be inclusive casual game for everyone (because everyone > someone) and brings more $
Because if they made a classic FPS then people would just continue playing call of duty… if that is the game you want, then I suggest you play call of duty instead of trying to turn Overwatch into a game that it is not…
call of duty hasn’t been any good since mw3 maybe black ops 2 … so i’ve tried to branch out … but the most successful fps on pc would be csgo and there’s no bs like a lock on gun in that?
Then I suggest you play csgo…
First person shooters don’t have ultimate abilities either.
This isn’t a traditional FPS.
Squad says hi.
Because 5m insta kill explosions with ~100 RPM need aim
Or putting 200 rounds in the general vicinity of a guy and eventually killing him, while he cant shoot back because he is suppressed to heck and back.
OW would still OW without the heroes who don’t require aim. It’s not going to magically turn into something else. In fact, the game would just get better.
Right lets remove the tanks and supports… oh wait.
It would be a very different game… The game is not only its mechanics but also its player-based. Without certain heroes the player-base would not be as diverse. The game would not appeal to as many people as it does.
Mercy, for example, appeals to people who would normally never play FPS games. She makes it possible to play Overwatch as a first-person strategy game where you spend most of your effort on looking around, reading the game, and making good callouts to your team and taking quick decisions… It’s very different than pew pew you’re dead…
because they had to made someone who will stay on point or protect healers when all you shooting dps players run away to get kills.
Thats for what Reinhardt was before.
But im sure its just another “brig op” post right?
And dont forget that this game get some ideas from tf2 (fps game), where you was also able to play with no aim (demoknight)
Or Demoman, because winbombs
yes but thats healing … why make a dps hero with a lock on weapon that does 120 dmg per second? or make a hero that can freeze and one shot you?
True, or spy who was able to kill and didnt need his gun for that.
Ah the good ol’ facestab.
They also finally fixed Pyro’s flamethrower particle system, so now he doesnt need much aim either.
Welp i didnt play tf2 in looong time now, mayby i will try it again or go for paladins after this event.
Hey, you were the one who made a topic that insinuates that Overwatch should be without all no-aim heroes… You can’t suddenly just cherrypick your opinions. If you meant Birgitte, then say Birgitte in the topic…
What your topic proposes is basically to remove:
Brigitte
Genji (his ranged is still aim)
Reinhart
Moira (she has to aim a bit)
Symmetra
Torbjörn (his own weapon is still aim)
Mercy (her weapon is still aim)
Junkrat (some aim involved when he’s not spamming)
… hmm, am I missing someone?
Lets remove all the characters that don’t require good aim and see who’s left.
Genji(debatable)
Mccree
Soldier
Tracer
Hanzo
Widowmaker
Orisa(debatable)
Zarya(debatable)
Ana
Zen
The game is totally better with only characters that require aim and only have 2 supports and tanks, and said tanks can easily be argued to not require aim. MAN OVERWATCH IS JUST SO MUCH BETTER! If you take out characters that don’t require aim, OW would not be OW. The counterpicking element of OW would basically be gone, and one of OW’s main selling point, having playstyles that cater to everyone, would also be gone. So removing every character that doesn’t require aim would make OW something else entirely.
Ana. Her grenade needs no aim.
The damage ramps up.
Mei needs to freeze you first, which takes time. Most heroes have mobility to avoid this.
