FPS issues recently

So, for the past week I noticed a huge drop in my FPS. Nothing that I know has changed at all and I have tried about everything I could find online and on the forums here and nothing seemed to have helped. My current in game settings are as follows.

Full Screen
1920x1080(144)
Field of View 103
vsync off
triple buffer off
reduce buffering on
show performance stats on
display clock off
limit fps custom set to 300 max
Ultra settings:
render scale 100%
texture filtering quality ultra 8x
lighting quality ultra
antialias quality low fxaa
everything else is set on high

I just also did the net graph thing in game on practice on overwatch and have two whites which i was told if any lines are white that something could be wrong.

Sim & CMDQ are both white. CMDQ is constant white. Also one dot beside the FPS not exactly sure what i have to change to get rid of that. Guessing because my monitor is 144hz and i’m not even getting close to a stable 144 fps?

I have set graphics settings in nivida to high performance and priority.
With having a 2080 I really don’t understand why I wouldn’t be getting higher fps when most of the players I play with daily are only running 1080ti’s with 130-140 constant fps on ultra settings. Please can someone help! I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours now. Any help or info would be gratefully appreciative. Thanks

Hi, forum volunteer here. Just to set some expectations: optimizing for high fps isn’t considered a technical support issue (like crashing or connection problems). Because of that, you may not receive official support in this topic. However, maybe I can provide some insight to set you on the right path:

According to those results, your GPU, but really your CPU, is performing way below expected. This is suspicious and makes me think you might be overheating.

I see two issues in this image. First, your SIM value is spiking to 99ms, which means something hardware or driver wise isn’t performing correctly. Sometimes this can be a quality-of-service issue with a local optimization app.

The second is the poor connection quality icon:

This icon pulses when your client hasn’t heard from the server for a period longer than your interpolation delay. If this icon is consistently pulsing, it may indicate a connection problem, and can cause erratic behavior in game.

Your values for latency are also spiking to 114ms, so it’s likely a connection problem making you lose frames, but could still be related to overheating.

Not entirely sure on overheating as It is liquid cooled far as the CPU goes. It says temps are staying right around 54 degrees Celsius and haven’t seen much of a change of increase on it at all while playing. I just got done playing for 4 hours and i’m holding a steady 120 fps currently but still i get spikes here and there. I really doubt it would be an overheating issue. I have 350 meg net through comcast and i ran speed checks and it seems to be fine. Not sure what else I could do to test my connection anymore then that. My latency was showing 90ms tonight as i kept checking.

What’s reporting these temperatures? HWMonitor?

Speed checks don’t tell you much about the quality of the connection to the Blizzard servers. Normally they test on the closest hub to you to see how fast it can go, but not how steady it would be.

Is that a normal latency for you? Unlike the staff, I don’t have tools to check what other players in your area are seeing for ping value.
