FPS Drops, unexplainable

So, with my computer this shouldnt be any issue AT ALL.

i work as a senior 3d designer, so i run dual 4090 cards, watercooled, 256gb ram ddr5, and a i9 13700 cpu.

its a joke theese fps drops, reinstalled the game, havent touched settings, and i still get it.
mind you, the computer and graphics cards is working fine in ALL OTHER GAMES.

and i have zero to none issue with it working and rendring.

so, can someone plese explain how to resolve the issue at hand.

i have tried to drop everything to low settings, and i still get it.
and yes i know, i can only utilize 1 card, but before i could SELECT what card i wanted to use, but there is no such option anymore, why is that?

When and how long does it happen for?

Sounds like some driver or CPU bottleneck. The game doesn’t use all cores on a 13700, probably taps out at 4-6 threads tops, so don’t let some 20% CPU usage trick you.

On almost every startup of the game, the game spends a few minutes verifying shaders. This places your CPU load into a very high range(my 13600 will sit around 100-150w during most of it). If you start a match before it’s over, you’ll have really rough framerates until it finishes. After it’s done, your CPU usage should drop down to almost nothing.

If this is still happening 10-20 minutes into the client being open, you’ll need to investigate things outside of the game client. As a game developer, I can very easily state that OW’s engine is pretty darned efficient, so I don’t really think the issue lies with the game engine. I run the game locked to 120hz on ultra with a 13600kf and an RX 6600. It NEVER drops below that and if I remove the cap, it actually runs much higher. I can back this with frametime graphs where it’s locked completely solid and never even so much as hitches for a frame or two.

Save a DXDIAG report, upload it to pastebin and paste the link here with a ` before and after the link(the key above tab and below escape).

The link's text should look like this

i have an error on my intel 770 mb gpu drivers issue, but that gpu is turned off in my system as i dont use it at all.

dont see that being any issue?

Your Nvidia drivers are way out of date, looks like you’re on 528, which is pretty old(from December 2022). It’s possible you need to run a DDU reinstall of the drivers. Windows might have replaced your drivers with their cherry picked version, which is almost always old compared to current drivers. It’s also possible it did that bug thing where it overwrites your drivers with old ones, without uninstalling the newer drivers first.

Even if you don’t use the intel gpu, you need to make sure its drivers are up to date. If you disable or disabled the iGPU in the bios, make sure to remove the left over drivers. Go into the device manager>view tab at the top menu>show hidden devices>look for display adaptors>find the intel one>right click>uninstall device.

You’ve got all kinds of weird errors at the end, app hangs, bluescreens, dll errors. You might want to open the start menu>type cmd>right click it and run as admin>in the prompt window: type sfc /scannow

Anyways, this almost certainly looks like a system issue and not a game issue.
