Fps drops on the nintendo switch port ever since pachimari update

The archives update has fixed the sound issues which i’m very grateful for, but the fps drops are still here. it has been like this ever since the pachimari update, which was a rebase of the game. to the people saying “the fps was always bad on switch” yes it was always capped at 30fps and it had some small frame drops here and there when there was a big teamfight going on but ever since the pachimari update i’m literally getting 20fps in the spawn room in lijiang. this never used to happen before and it’s made the game quite unplayable. the fps drops are both on docked mode and handheld mode, the handheld mode has it the worst but the docked mode also has bad frame drops quite frequently. please fix this issue blizzard, i wanna be able to enjoy this game again. this has been going on for like almost 2 months and it’s just so annoying to keep having to make these posts. please blizzard fix the issues or atleast acknowledge them :frowning:

Since this is a performance issue, by Blizzard customer support guidelines (I just found this out while typing this reply), this is considered a technical issue so we might have better luck on the tech support forum. Just something you might want to try out.

No luck tho, someone already did a ticket and was reported back that Blizzard can’t do anything about performance even tho the report ticket was “Console Performance Problems” so we were puzzled on to why they can’t help with that.

The thing they said was :

“Our scope of support for the console version of the game is very limited, there isn’t much things to do if the game reinstall didn’t work. You can try to ask others players or even the Nintendo support, they might have some others solutions to share.

Hoping that it’ll be solved very soon.”

I don’t know what more we can do at this point, maybe talk to Iron Galaxy? (They handled the port).

Not entirely sure what Nintendo support can do about it. I mean if all of the other online Switch games work just fine and Overwatch doesn’t, than it is an Overwatch specific issue. How exactly do we get into contact with Iron Galaxy because I’m ready for these issues to be fixed.

Edit: Nevermind. Here is the link to their contact page on their website.

Edit #2: Just sent them a message asking if they would be able to fix our fps issues. I’ll let y’all know if they can fix it.

Edit #3: I’m also going to contact Nintendo Support just in case they actually might be able to help.

I hope they say something on the lines that they can fix it :frowning:

Panic Button updated Doom (2016) on Switch more than a year later of the initial release once they got a way to improve drastically the performance of the game.

Maybe Iron Galaxy can do the same for Overwatch, i really want to play on my Switch Lite without feeling dizzy cuz of the very low fps :frowning:

What does Doom 2016 run at on Switch? I just found out that the Switch can run games at 1080p with 60 fps.

Just had a live chat with Nintendo Support. They are sending my request to see if they can do anything about the issue.

It’s 720p/Stable 30fps, also The Witcher 3, Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein 2. Panic Button did an incredible job optimizing those games.

Other remarkable games like Dragonball FighterZ runs @ 1080p/60fps and Mortal Kombat 11 @ 720p/60fps are on the Switch and they play pretty good.

I noticed that Overwatch doesn’t have Dynamic Res, it’s locked @ 900p. Maybe they can give is an option to tweak graphics settings like The Witcher 3 on Switch?

I also noticed that Sym’s Wall and Mei’s Wall as well as other special effects are now higher quality than they used to be when Overwatch was pre-parchimarchi update. Maybe an oversight of the rebase update? They should check out the assets that are now present on Switch.

That’s bs.

The game was working great before the rebase. It’s not like it was a mess since day 1. This issue is 100% on Blizzard.

What is Nintendo supposed to do…? Walk into Blizzard offices and fix the game themselves…?

It’s been more than a month. More than a fricking month actually and not a single word about it. Not a single We’re looking at it. Nothing.

That’s why I contacted Iron Galaxy. I also contacted Nintendo just in case they actually could do something. I’m exploring all possible options.

This is something I’ve noticed. Some textures are extremely detailed for a Switch.

This port really needs some love.

What I noticed after that update is some textures don’t completely load in. I play D.Va a lot and it doesn’t look like it used to.

I was just in with Nintendo Support and they said that “We are sorry but we don’t have any information about this issue, we recommend that you keep talking to Blizzard for this since they are the publisher of the title.” :frowning:

Dang. Let’s hope that Iron Galaxy has a solution since they are the ones that ported Overwatch. We also need to somehow tell Blizzard that Nintendo can’t do anything about it.
