FPS drops from 144 to ~60 constantly

This past month or so I’ve been having bad FPS drops and I’m not sure what to do about it. It’s been dropping from 144 to around 60 FPS in every match, constantly, which is making my game look like a slideshow.

Some things I’ve done to try and fix this issue:

  • Updated all drivers
  • Scanned & repaired in Bnet client
  • Lowered graphics (most are medium or lower, with textures and models being high)
  • Turned off VSYNC
  • Closed all background programs
  • Restarted laptop

Here’s my system specs:

Device name LAPTOP-TN0QUKOM
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable)
Device ID 769FCE67-7575-4CEA-A901-F179370507B5
Product ID 00325-82229-26812-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Pen support

I also have the DxDiag but it’s too long to paste here and I’m not sure how to upload a file.

Is there any other information I need to include? Thank you

Does your system have a standalone GPU that you didn’t include in the information?

Otherwise, the performance you’re getting sounds fantastic for a Vega 8 iGPU, which doesn’t meet the system requirements.

Having the same issue. Fps goes from 144 to 40-60 for a few seconds then back. No CPU load during the issues. NVIDIA graphic card

After changing FRAME RATE option to Automatic the issue resolved. But if I switch it back to 300 (it was always like this for me) then fps dips return.

I can confirm!
Today my first game performance was stuck in 40-50fps. I decided to change the in-game “Frame Rate” from “Custom” to “Automatic”, and the fps was good again.
