Ever since the update yesterday, my FPS went from over 300 to barely 70. I also now deal with frequent ‘loss of connection to server’. Anyone else experiencing issues with FPS or the connection to the servers since the new update? I didn’t experience any of this beforehand.
Having the same issue. I used to have stable FPS from around 165 and now I’m getting crappy FPS sometimes can’t even climb above 90. I have been looking what the issue is and noticed that my GPU is barely being used (12% ish) and my CPU is getting used by Overwatch 2 (63% ish). After I tried to force it to use my GPU it still went to the CPU.
Basically I also have this issue and no clue on how to fix. Don’t worry ur not alone.
same here for me, since this update I’ve not been able to go over 60fps and while my rig isn’t the most amazing before the update i’d get a stable 130-150fps
Having the same problem. I usually play on 60-75 fps with it sometimes dropping to 40 ish
But since the latest update I’m barely getting 10. Was going insane trying to figure out why, somewhat glad to see that blizzard just sucks.
Same problem here.
Had constant 119 FPS playing with everything in low in 4K.
Now i drop to 80 even 70 lowest being 60 on new game mode.
A ton of FPS drop making the game barely playable
I7 11700k
RTX 3080TI
32GB ram
No overcloking and no problem in any other games.
I mean i’m playing with everything in low with that kind of setup the game should run flawlessly.
Glad to know it’s not on my end. I was getting 180-200 FPS before the update and now there are times where my FPS tanks below ~80 when this never happened before.
On my client for some reason some graphics options changed from low to ultra and I had to manually lower them, then restart the game. This is what caused low fps and lag for me.
Any idea what graphics settings where changed?
Same issue here, from stable 144 fps (capped) to a range from 90 to 144.
Sometimes it fixes itself and i have the stable 144 fps, but for the rest i have those strange drops
Yeah i find it strange that mine drops at all. I have had my fps limited to 300 and it shouldn’t drop at all.
If i uncap it i have like 600+ fps.
Like obviously 200 is still good but it shouldn’t drop, its also just visible so thats the annoying part about it. Im missing shots due to it.
I can run Red Dead Redemption 2 with everything on ultra except for raytracing with a stable 108 fps.
I have most settings in ow on low.
Have you guys tried waiting for 5 minutes at the main screen after loading the game? If you run an overlay like RTSS, you’ll see your CPU usage redlining while it compiles/verifies all the shaders. After that, it should drop to like <5% and be done.
This happens every single time I boot up the game. Seems to either be a Windows 11 thing or an AMD GPU thing, never bothered to figure out which. If I try to play before it finishes the shader work, I will get like 70fps in a match until it’s done, but then after it’s done, I’ll have hundreds of FPS. Also, it takes longer to finish if you immediately jump into a match after booting up the game, since the match will be hogging some of the CPU that could be used for finishing it.
Well, contacted support and they told me the background programs (Razer/Discord/etc.) were the issue. I stopped them and noticed a slight improvement but now I do notice the drops again so… idk, it’s less as before but they are still there just less often and less bad.
Also noticed a program attached to Overwatch 2 named “CrashMailer_64” it starts up with Overwatch 2 but then stays in the background. If I end it with task manager I do notice improved fps. Might helps so try it?
In the end I still get less stable frames then before Season 6.
