Hello !
I’m sorry i’m creating a new topic for that, I noticed there are already a lot about FPS dropping but I searched everywhere and nothing is working for me.
I haven’t played the game for two weeks, and as I decide to play to get the new Summer Event skins, it lags horribly. Basically, my fps keeps dropping, going from 60 to between 15 and 40. It’s unplayable. My latency seems fine however.
My graphic card is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 1060 6gb. I have reinstalled the game, updated my GC, reset the Geforce settings to the default ones, lowered the game graphic settings, made sure my computer was on high performance…
Nothing is working, I feel like i’m gonna have to reset my entire Windows (I dont want toooo).
The only thing I did during these two weeks was to install my graphic tablet’s driver and trying to connect the tablet to my computer. It didnt work (I know why, no worries). Everytime I launched Overwatch, I have closed the tablet driver app as well as other useless programs usually running in the background (such as twitch).
Anyway, sorry again for this topic, but it’s really bothering me. I’ve tried to send a direct request to Blizzard but it keeps telling me to check if I havent been pirated ?? and when I click on “send request” it just doesnt work.
Thanks a lot for answering. I took four screenshots during the same game. It’s constently laggy, so I just took them when I thought it lagged a lot. However, this game was not the most laggy one I ever had, it was playable but barely. Also, in some of my games, I can’t even see my character, but here I could. Sorry for my messy explanation…

Also, I have a 60hz screen but in my game options it is not display based ; therefore, it says I usually have about 150-200 fps? It’s weird but it never caused trouble before. I changed it to display-based once yesterday but it didn’t fix my game issues.
Thanks for the help again, I hope I did what you asked of me correctly.
This happened to me on a different PC thank I have now before, and I updated windows. Apparently I had a background process running that was taking up over 80% of my CPU for no reason. I pressed CTRL ALT DELETE and found what was taking up such a high CPU % and it was an actual windows process. Frustrating.
I have the exact same problem. Same graphics card, driver updates and windows updates didn’t help. GPU is barely consumed by the game, most likely an incompatibility issue.
Thanks for providing the screenshots. The main issue I’m seeing in them is the SIM value (white bars) is spiking which isn’t normal. Usually SIM spikes indicate a processing problem with the CPU, which causes the game to stutter or lock up briefly.
Lets check the CPU clock speeds and temperatures while you’re playing using HWmonitor
Launch the program before starting the game and allow it to run in the background.
Play for at least 15-20 minutes or until the issue occurs.
Switch back to HWmonitor, maximize the window, then expand all of the individual sections.
Scroll to the top and take a screenshot. For Windows 10 press Win+Shift+S to take a screenshot of the window. For Windows 7 or 8.1 press the Printscreen key on your keyboard.
Paste the image into the Paint program and save it as a .bmp or .jpg
If you were unable to capture all of the sections in the first screenshot, scroll down in HWmonitor and repeat the process of screenshotting and saving it.
Upload the images to an image hosting website like imgur.com then share the unique links in your next post. Paste the links here, then highlight everything and hit the </> button in the posting section so it will allow the link.
Your CPU is very hot, reaching temps of 90C-93C. I recommend making sure the case is clean of dust and that all of your fans (especially the one for the CPU) are working. If cleaning doesn’t help, you may need to seek the assistance of a PC tech to check/replace your CPU’s thermal paste.
