FPS backfill bug? WHEN?

This bug has been around for so many years now.

Either they can’t fix it or won’t fix it.

Question is why?

You get backfilled into a match, which means that team is likely already struggling - at least from the delay in backfilling - and then your system is permanently taken down to half the FPS or lower until you restart.

It’s like some kind of troll.

The bug still exists. But now it’s more random. So the bug has had some fixes. Before this patch. It always happened with me. Now it’s not all the time.

It’s always been sporadic. So I don’t think it’s had fixes. It’s probably that it’s sporadic that makes it hard to fix.

I NEVER had this bug happen to me before this season.

Now if I backfill my fps drops between 30 and 80 (usually it’s around 200).

It’s interesting to know this bug has been around for a long time when for me it has just been introduced.

Then ur stuck in a match with 20 fps, or face the wrath of the leaver penalty

Leavers should just cancel the match and give u priority que at this point if they can’t fix it

How nice. Now it’s affecting more people lol.

The solution is to turn down your graphics to Low, across the board. Several others, including myself, have never had this issue, or have said it stopped after changing settings.

If you don’t want to change your graphics that’s on you, had someone literally whine about how “bad” it looks, when frames are more important.

I didn’t have the bug until the latest patch. Now I get backfilled and my game becomes a PowerPoint slide :sob:

No. That is NOT the solution.

The solution to a bug like that is not “turn the detail down” lol

Crazy.

Don’t worry guys, Flare has the solution: Blizzard doesn’t need to fix FPS bugs now, you need to just buy better hardware. Get a 5090 so that when you’re backfilled you can still play at 120 FPS lowest settings.

Honestly. Some people.

RIP fella.

Actually have you considered a bigger graphics card? I hear that fixes the bug. You can go from 2 FPS to 5 or even 7 for another 2000 buckazoids.

This is why it’s so maddening.

It’s like a form of gaslighting.

Are you done gas lighting or are you going to actually use the solution given to you?

Like that level of hostile idiotic nonsense was unneeded.

No one said a 5090, I have a 16 gb 5060 ti, nowhere near the best, so once again, you done?

Are you done Gaslighting?

That level of :clown: was unneeded.

Let me get this straight:

Your solution is to take the already lowest possible settings and then fix the FPS bug by reducing them to the same lowest possible settings?

Everything has been tried. Nothing works.

You’re definitely the one gaslighting.

You are one angry little man.

I guess you just want to complain to complain and be the victim, when in reality the answer has been given to you.

You’re actually delusional.

Not a solution. Bypass at best

It fixes the issue for now, that’s a temporary solution in my book. :person_shrugging: It’s meant to help people out, and you see how some people react.

I still haven’t had an issue with this. Not once.

Not sure what else to suggest. Not sure what the common cause is. All I can say, is that I’m running a 4080S FE, using driver version 466.36 from last Nov on Windows 11 23H2. (still)

250FPS, solid as a rock, no matter if I backfill or not.

By definition, it doesn’t fix anything. There are still unnecessary loops in bg that slow down input processing even without fps drop
It also doesn’t help those who play on high-refresh-rate monitors at 300+ fps on mins

5060 ti, with newest drivers, never had this issue either. I keep mine locked to 180 fps, since my monitor is 170 hz.

Have to admit I’ve never ever had this issue, but saying that I’ve always played comp with 1080p and lowest possible settings, even on a 4k 27”. When I play a competitive game I want the highest possible FPS.

And just to trigger the Nvidia 5090 shill further I use a 9070 XT with 9800X3D

Frames win games, plain and simple.

Hahahaha. Nice choices. I have a 7800x3D.

Mine is a 32” 165hz. I run at 250 to lower the in-game latency to below 4ms. (averages around 3ms at that FPS)

I could go higher, but no need. Its responsive enough there. But no dips or problems. So not sure what is causing the issue for those of you running into it.
