Was playing a comp match and my Baptiste got mad at me cause I wasn’t doing well. He then put in our team chat the discord nicknames of the people in my discord call. According to google the definition of dox is, “search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the internet, typically with malicious intent.” This is textbook doxxing. strayowl#1978 If mods want proof comment and I’ll find a way to get you it because for some reason I can’t put links in my post.

I’m fairly sure the forums have a rule about naming and shaming.

Fair warning, (as annoying as it can be), but listing someone’s specific Battle Tag or name is against Code of Conduct. You might get this post flagged or taken down. You should take it up with Blizzard support though if you’re looking for direct action. It’s your best route.

Ok, thank you for letting me know. Idk why they would have a rule against that when he is literally doing something illegal. I’ll see if I can get in contact with Blizzard support.

Is that discord name in you post the guy who “doxxed” you and your friends?
If so, you just did the same thing, you should remove the name or you will get repercussions on the forums.

Your identity is safe. You won’t get doxxed just because someone happens to know your local discord server. They probably just guessed it. That person was just attempting to act like an internet tough guy.
Have a laugh, report, move on. Don’t stress about it. Someone threatening to dox you online never has the skills to do so anyways.
